Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday night and welcome to Jaydee's SU stamping space!
- I wanted the card to be clean and simple and highlight the emotive sentiment. Instead of using Real Red for the ink, I used Ruby Red as I wanted a softer feel and love the Ruby Red with the Very Vanilla.
- For the Delightful Decoration, I stamped it first in Ruby Red ink and then used a Versmark pen to color the area to accept the Dazzling Diamonds embossing powder. If you have the craft ink - you don't need to use the Versamark to take the embossing powder. (That's a great thing about the craft inks!)
- I used a little piece of the silver elastic cord - available from the new mini to make a hanger for the decoration and a small pearl from the Pretties Kit. The ribbon is the retired Red Riding Hood... and it works so well. The little stripe of vanilla on the edge of the ribbon, helped tie the colors together.
- Jaydee tip: when using embossing powder, I use two things to make things easier for myself - I use the Embossing Buddy to help lessen the chance the powder will stick where I don't want it! Then... cleanup.... is a breeze when you use a small piece of a Swiffer dusting cloth. I keep a box in my stamping space and use about 1/8th of a sheet.
The end result was clean and simple, just as I wanted. Something that can be made en masse, with very few components. Also, because the Delightful Decorations stamp actually has 4 different designs, you can make them all a little different.
However, how can I get anything done with this amount of distraction.
Bilbo to Bailey... Oy, you! What are you doing up there.
So, you think you are the king of the castle... but not for long, mate!
Now.. its just a tail fest. And what do cats do after all this activity?
On that note. I want to thank you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere.
You can buy any of the products to make the designs that you see on my blog - in your pyjamas and face mask - 24 hours per day - by clicking here.
I hope you have a fabulous Sunday - doing the things you love - with those who mean the most to you - whether they are 2-legged - or 4-legged, or in the case of my late and much beloved Kit-Kat - 3-legged!
Peace
Jaydee

Hi Susan...
thank you so much for visiting my site and leaving such supportive comments. It's always very flattering when fellow SU demonstrators visit and see something that inspires them to go off and get stampin! :-) So, thank you.
The paper... ah... it's from the Christmas Jingle simply scrappin kit - 115696. I love this kit and have used it several times on cards that I've made recently. You have also probably discovered that I love polka dots.
I hope you have a fabulous Sunday
hugs
Jaydee

Hi Jaydee! I'm new to your blog and I LOVE your cards and your tips, etc! I'm an SU demo too! Is the DSP you used on this card that retired one - was it called Cherise? Or is it part of Dashing? Hmmm... I NEED to make this card!

Love how simple yet elegant this card is. Really well done.
I also have a cat that likes to "help" me stamp. Inky paw prints anyone?

Hi Jean
thanks for stopping by.... in your pyjamas and face mask.. you are always welcome! :-)
I was surprised the tower survived the tail fest, too. As for the phototent... we won't go into the fact that I ordered the wrong size - sometimes it feels like one of those 1950 movies where something starts of really small and then takes over the whole village - I swear it grows bigger every time I take the darn thing out to photograph my cards.
Have a fabulous Sunday.
hugs

HI Jaydee
this card is really good, the way you used the ruby red, and the fact that you did keep it simple. I am always intrique by this kind of design, and always try to go there! :)

Wow the tower survived the tail fest! I'm impressed! Must be a big photo tent to accomodate both cats and still leave a neutral zone. Love the way the blanket makes a barrier of sorts. So why do I get the feeling that Bilbo delights in making Bailey's life a misery?
And how on earth did you know I was in my pajama'a and face mask?? I knew Big Brother was watching but stamping sister too?? - LoL! Actually I spend a great deal of my life in pajamas and face mask so that was a good guess.
Thanks for sharing the lovely card and the cute furfaces. Night, night to you all feline and furless - Jean
