Hi Everyone. Happy Friday night and welcome to Jaydee's SU stampin' space!
Tonight's card uses the A Wish for Peace set. It's such a beautiful set and I love the peace dove. Of course, I had to pull out my shimmer paint for this card! :-) I've just finished up my newly designed newsletter and the technique corner is on uses for - and usage of - Shimmer Paint! So, if you are interested in receiving my newsletter and hints and tips on Shimmer Paint - just click here.
Talking about newsletters.... "CC" if you are reading this, please could you let me have your email address. You had indicated you wanted to receive my newsletter, but the email address didn't come across!
So, for tonight's card I used the earthy colors. I don't often use them. In fact, I found that I didn't have a single piece of scrap Handsome Hunter paper! Now, that's bad! I used the MojoMonday111 layout. It's a really cool layout. I decided that I wanted to feature my new stamp set
Card recipe:
- I used Chocolate Chip as the base color and then overlayed that with Chocolate Chip DSP.
- The third layer was Chocolate Chip and a piece of Chocolate Chip DSP - this time on the vertical
- I stamped the central image in StazOn ink on Shimmery White paper
- I used my watercolor crayons to color the foliage, the church and the window. I then ran over it with a blender pen very lightly
- I stamped the Dove in Going Grey. Tip: Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa gave far too strong an image on the dove; consequently I chose the Going Grey. The GG stayed within the same color undertones and gave me just the right amount of definition.
- I then went over the dove in Shimmer White paint.
- I used a hodgepodge frame and stamped Noel (from the Many Merry Messages set). I stamped the Noel in Handsome Hunter on a piece of Shimmery White and punched it to fit the frame.
As I said, I don't often use the darker, more earthy colors, but this version of the card just took me there. Isn't it amazing how that happens? It happened to me last night with the snowmen card. I'd never intended to go to Brilliant Blue, either! Must be the waning moon or something!!!
Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous weekend. I really hope that you all get to spend time doing the things you love with those you love the most and I thank you - as always - for spending time in my little area of the stampin blogosphere.
Peace - which seems so appropriate considering tonight's card!
Jaydee
BTW... Typepad still haven't fixed the feedburner issue! Hopefully they will get it fixed soon and you will start to receive automatic updates.

This is just beautiful! Thanks for playing! :)
