Hi everyone. Happy Friday Night. I am so pleased it is the weekend. I'm hoping to get into my stamp room tomorrow to play!!!! oh yeah!
Tonight's card is the sneak preview that I promised you. It uses the sneak preview set from the new Idea Book and Catalog due out in July. We demos were lucky enough to be able to pre-order this set. I am so excited, because I immediately fell in love with the set when I saw it on Stampin' Up! You can see my other Awash with Flowers cards here
Customers will also be able to get this set as a free set with any workshop over $350.00- in addition to the normal great hostess benefits. So, this is on top of the normal benefits, for the month of April. So, talk to your demonstrator about this great opportunity - and if you don't have a demonstrator, you can talk to me and I would be happy to tell you how you can win this fabulous set! You can see the details of the special promotion called two-step into spring Download TwoStep_0310
It's a funny thing... when I first saw this set, I thought bright reds and oranges and blacks - typical Marimekko colors. However, when I started to play with it last night, I was very drawn to the negative and positive stamp. I had this image of using the negative space stamp in white on Night of Navy - and then reversing that. It needed the pop of Old Olive. I've never used these colors together - but I am very pleased with the results. Mmmmm... I must admit though - I was very surprised that this particular duo of stamps from the set took me down a very unexpected path. Even to a square card! Yes... a square card!
I'm sorry about the colors... I couldn't get to my tent tonight to take a decent shot and have found that my flash on my camera isn't working... mmmm.. technical issues I have to sort out!
Card supplies:
card stock: Night of Navy, Old Olive and Whisper White
Ink: Whisper White craft in, Night of Navy and Old Olive classic inks
I stamped the negative stamp in Whisper White craft ink onto the Night of Navy.
I then cut a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the positive stamp image in Night of Navy onto the Whisper White. I used Old Olive for the stem.
I stamped "thinking of you" from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched it out. I attached it using snail to the left side of my focal image and positioned it so that I could add a half pearl.
I was really pleased with the final outcome. It was also very quick and very easy to do. I can't wait to play with the other stamps in the set. There are 18 pieces in this stamp set with so many opportunities to come up with very different interpretations. Oh.. I can't wait to play tomorrow.
For my loyal readers, I am going to please ask you to put our fellow crafter and jaydee blog follower, Trish in your prayers. She really needs them right now. Those of you who follow my blog regularly will know that Trish is a regular commenter on my blog, fellow demonstrator and all round amazing lady. Trish let me know that she hadn't managed to comment on my blog in the last few days because she was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer last weekend. The fact that Trish apologized for not commenting on my blog was amazing.... she has so many things to take care of right now and yet she still wanted me to know that she was sorry she wouldn't be around to comment whilst she was seeing the specialists and going for surgery.
If you would like to send a card of support for Trish, please email me and I will send you her address. I know that many of you will have been affected by this disease in one way or another and may want to show your support. I hope you do. Trish, I know that you won't be reading my blog too often - but I did want you to know that you are so much in my prayers and in my thoughts. Tonight's card is dedicated to you... and I am thinking of you.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, filled with love and laughter. Remember to hug those around you and be grateful for both the small - and the large things in life that you have.
If you would like to send a card to Trish to brighten her day, please just send me an email.
Hugs
Jaydee

I like the background, not so sure on the main image. Seems like it's missing something to bring out the leaf. Maybe some bling????
Thinking of you Trish...my prayers are with her and her family. Can you send me Trish's address please? Thanks.
