Hi Everyone
Happy Monday Night! Tonight's card uses Abundant Hope and is used with the gorgeous paper from the Lovely Flowers bundle... AGAIN! I still cannot believe that I haven't used this paper before. It's my favorite DSP for this catalog! You can see my other Abundant Hope cards here.
I used the sketch from justusgirlschallenge #23 and yet another one that was inspired by the palspaperarts challenge 32A to think of spring. Thanks to both teams for providing the inspiration!
Nothing reminds me of spring like crocuses and daffodils. Spring is definitely on it's way... although we know for sure we still have snow storms to come yet before this winter is over. The days are getting longer, the chickadee is still trying to find his mate and the sun seems to almost have some warmth in its rays! I'll be so happy when we can start eating outside again this year.
I got more clear mount boxes from SU today... and it arrived in a box that had a warning on it... CAUTION... Opening box may cause extreme excitement! Oh! I loved that. It's a special Sale A Bration box - and it's the first one I have received with the warning on the lid. I love the humour!
I wanted to do an Easter Card for Lou's parents, so I thought this was the ideal time to do something a little more elaborate. I did use the Vellum technique again..... And Trish... I checked out the type of Vellum I'm using. It's one I got at a local office supply store and it's Laser Vellum. It's pretty lightweight.
I decided to use Crushed Curry again... why am I suddenly falling in love with Crushed Curry...I know I used it a fair amount at Christmas and for some reason, I just think it works so well for things like the darker colors on the Daffodils.
Anyway, I hope that Lou's parents will appreciate their Easter card. I feel perfectly safe showing you this card, knowing that there is no way they will ever see it online :-)
I did try this with Old Olive as my green, but it just didn't work. I found that the Always Artichoke for the leaves worked so much better with this color scheme.
Here's a closeup for you
Hard to tell it was done on Vellum, right... but it is!
Once again I stamped the image onto Vellum and used my stylus to go around the image from the outside and then used my stylus to stretch the vellum and turn it white inside the flower. I colored from the backside of the image to begin with, and then added a layer of color on the outside. I used Barely Banana on the outside of the flowers, then So Saffron and then used Crushed Curry for the inner part of the flowers.
I used my Circle Scissor Plus to cut the circle of Vellum and also the circle of Whisper White behind the vellum. The Scallop Circle Bigz Die was used to create the scallop outer circular border.
The paper... gorgeous isn't it..... is from the Lovely Flowers bundle and the ribbon is the Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon. The sentiment "Easter Blessings" is from Abundant Hope - as is the image.
I used medium sized half pearls around the central image and underneath the Easter Blessings.
I also stamped part of the Daffodil image on the inside, as well as the inside sentiment "Rejoicing with you in the abundant mercy and hope of Christ the Lord". You can see that I also placed the scroll border stamp underneath the sentiment and placed them both on my clear block. This ensured that I could stamp the sentiment and border just once.
You can see that I wrapped the ribbon all the way around the the card. Love this polka dot ribbon... I do hope we see it again in the new Idea Book and Catalog in July! Oh... talking about that... my sneak preview set arrives on Wednesday. Hopefully I will get downstairs into my studio to use it on Wednesday night. I can't wait to show it to you.
Oooohhhh.... if any of you want the Microsoft Word template for the clear mount case insert, if you are unmounting your wood mount stamps, just send me an email, or leave me a comment and I will send it to you via email.
To my fabulous blog followers.... you are amazing..... to all of you.. I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday, filled with love, laughter and time spend with those you love....
Hugs
Jaydee

I just got Abundant Hope last night! Now I know exactly what colors to use on the daffodil!
Your card is beyond beautiful--Lou's parents will love it!
Hard to believe it is time to create Easter cards!
Have a great day!
PS-when you mail a card like this do you put anything over the pearls-like cardboard? I sent one through the mail and the pearl came through the envelope.
