Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday Night.
Tonight's card is for two challenges... taylored expressions TESC103 and palspaperarts 32-A. The sketch was from taylored expressions and the palspaper arts challenges was an inspiration challenge...and the inspiration......spring.... so, using both these together I had the most amazing fun creating an Easter card.
Isn't that cute. I love it... the little chick breaking out of the egg amongst the grass.... :-) and the butterflies taking flight because of the noises the chick is making :-)
Card supplies:
Card stock: Mellow Moss and Whisper White
DSP: Shades of Spring
Images: Inspired by Nature - the grass; Country Morning (hostess level 1) - the chick
Sentiment: "Happy Easter" from Teeny Tiny Wishes
Embellishments: Butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit; Water color crayons for the coloring; Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon; scallop border punch (free with SAB); half pearls
Tip: to make the butterflies look as though they are flying, I actually glued one half of the butterfly wing to the card stock and the other I left free.
I chalked the background with various shades of blue and white to create sky... although it's tough to see it in the photograph. I wanted a ground level view - from the chick's level, so the grass looks long and the butterflies look as though they are flying high.
I stamped the chick image onto Whisper White card stock, colored him and the eggs with my crayons and then cut around him with my snips and glued him to the bottom of the card. Well, it certainly reminds me of spring..... which, cannot come fast enough.
They are promising 46 degrees later this week.... oh YEAH!!!! above ZERO!!! oh yeah!!!! Even the chickadee is sensing spring and is looking for his mate. He starts at around 5.30 am. with his "see-saw", "see-saw" call. It's such an incredibly happy sound.
Talking about happy... I spent a good amount of time in my stamping space today... and I'm about to go watch George Clooney at the Oscars. Can the day be any better :-)
I hope you all have a fabulous Monday... and a great week. I hope you get time to do the things you love, with those you love.
Thank you - as always for visiting my little piece of the stamping blogosphere. Your comments - and your support are always welcome.
Hugs
Jaydee

So pretty! There is a lot going on in that little card! You really used a lot of tools/techniques, etc to get the finished card and it is beautiful. The Teeny Tiny Wishes is on my SU order-I think it will be used often! Have a great week!

Gotcha beat with a beautiful high in the 60's today. This just has to be the best time of the year! I liked how you combined the chick with the grass. My favorite color (pink). Enjoy the warm weather.
