Hi everyone.
Happy Saturday night. I got some good quality stamping time in my studio today. Oh yeah.. it's a good day when I can do something creative :-)
The snow is really starting to melt and we can even see some grass. The grass is not exactly alive.. but at least we can see it. The air even felt a little warmer today. Consequently, I was inspired to use my new Awash with Flowers set again. You can see my other cards made with this set here .
Tonight's card uses Melon Mambo, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Summer Sun. I'm hoping that our flower pots will look this colorful in summer!
The two step stamping always puts me outside my comfort zone, because the pieces never fit perfectly - nor are they meant to.. and you all know how I like to keep within the lines :-) It's actually really liberating to let go and just enjoy it!
I used the sketch challenge from splitcoaststampers today - SC271. The expanse for the focal point was just right for this stamp set.
It also gave me a chance to use my Old Olive satin ribbon and playground buttons. I don't often use buttons, but it felt like just the right accent for tonight's card.
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Melon Mambo (textured), Crushed Curry (textured) (115719 for the in-color textured mixed card stock pack), Old Olive (100702), Whisper White (100730)
- Stamp set: Awash with Flowers
- Ribbon: Old Olive Satin Ribbon (117292)
- Button: Old Olive button from the Playground set (116313)
- Linen Thread (104199)... did you notice that the thread was tied to try to mimic the little bows on the Dusty Durango, poppy like flowers? :-) Also, the thread doesn't come this color - I died it using my Chocolate Chip marker
- Inks: Black StazOn, Old Olive, Dusty Durango, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Summer Sun
I hope you like your second look at this great set. I'm loving it so much that I actually made 3 cards with it today!
I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday, filled with love, laughter and time to do the things you enjoy. Please also keep Trish in your prayers.
As always, thank you so much to all of you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere - your visits and your support are what keep this blog going!
Hugs
Jaydee
