Hi Everyone. Happy Friday.
Quick post for you tonight. It's the very talented Bhavanna's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a great code word for us:
I knew that there were several ways I could go with this challenge; welcome baby; welcome to the neighborhood... but I decided on a welcome... home card. Lou travels so much, so I thought a little welcome home card would be ... well... welcome!
I started off by diecutting a piece of Recollections 110# cardstock with the My Favorite Things die. Normally I use this for a winter card... but what's to say it couldn't be combined with a bright yellow sunny sky and be made a summer die instead :-) I then used two colors of distress inks and created a blended sky. Instead of a perfectly blended sky, I went with not overblending the two colors as our sunrises are never that pristine! :-) I mounted the die cut piece onto a piece of black cardstock (to ground the diecut image) and then mounted the two layers to the base card using fun foam.
Here's my card:
If you play along with us this week, you have the chance of winning the fabulous prize - a 15 Euro shopping spree from our wonderful sponsor
If you are looking for some inspiration for the challenge this week, you have to look no further than the fabulous creations from our design team - including our guest designer -Elaine. I hope you will visit her blog and leave her a little stamping love.
On a personal note:
Oh.... it's hot. Like so much of the US, we have been reeling under incredible heat, high humidity - and even 50 mph winds. I don't mind the heat so much - it's the 85% humidity that goes along with it that I don't like so much.
It does mean one thing though... our tree frogs are out- just like this little guy who hunts on our front porch at night, and hides behind the chair cushion during the day:
We have to be so careful sitting out there - and always check the cushions! But he's a welcome visitor.
Another favorite visitor - the swallowtails. I was lucky enough to watch - and photograph - two of them flitting amongst the bee balm (bergamot) this week. You can't tell me this isn't a gorgeous butterfly:
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
