Happy Friday from a snowy Mn! yes, we a fresh fall of 6 inches last night and are settled in for about as much again tomorrow. It sure does look pretty outside though with the sun shining and sparkling on the fresh snow.
I have another card for you tonight as part of my AECP 1st level classes. This card is for the class Clean and Simple Boutique Cards. Jen takes the class through some great ways to add that extra boutique feel to CAS cards to make them just a little bit more special. I was inspired by the lesson to use metallic.... why not... I'm suddenly addicted to added more shine to my cars :-)
I wanted to add a frame to my card but, keeping it as clean and simple as I could. In order to do that, I used my Create a Wreath oval die to cut directly into a piece of Altenew white woodgrain paper 4.25 x 5.5" layer. I didn't need the frame so kept that for later use. But, I did keep the center of the die-cut oval.
I then used that same die-cut on some gold mirror card stock. I kept the centre for another project - but put the gold frame aside for use on my card.
All that was left was to layer up the fabulous new coraly-reds of the new Altenew Tea Party colors. I am obsessed with these shades! Once I had finished layering up the rose, I added a little more shimmer and shine with a gel pen. It's subtle unless you get it in just the right light.
I stamped the sentiment into the middle of the die-cut oval and adhered the woodgrain layer, the gold die-cut and the plain Neenah solar white #80 center onto the card base. I then arranged the flower and leaves onto the frame with low height foam dots and my card was ready.
Here's the full card:
I'm sorry you can't see the texture of the woodgrain layer - it was very hard to capture that because of the white. You can just see it behind the closeup of the flower.
I love the mixture of the new Tea Party coral and the new Green Meadows greens. They really are a lovely combo. If you have the Altenew Inks - did you know you can get downloadable color swatches at this link?
Don't forget... tonight is the last night to enter to win a seat in the "Let it Shine" class that I am giving away... you can read all about the blog candy on this post
I'll be back again tomorrow with my final card for the AECP classes level 1. Oh.. and with my Paper Players card on Sunday. I'm also hoping to get out and take some photos before the next round of snow tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
