Cherish Friendship - for you from me

Hi Everyone

Happy Monday night.  I hope you are all have a great start to the week.  Tonight I have so much to do and so many cards still to finish up!

I did want to share a card I made using one of my new sets - Cherish Friendship.  I put it together with A Word for You.  I decided it need a little touch on vintage - but with clean and simple lines.

 

Card deets - all supplies Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

• Card stock:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, So Saffron
• Stamps: Background: Well Worn.  Focal image:  Cherish Friendship.  Sentiment: A Word for You
• Inks:  Versamark, Basic Black, Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard
• Accessories:  Victoria Crochet Trim,

A little different for me... but I was pleased with the overall look of it.

On a personal note.

Well, my 8" egg on my leg where I tripped on Saturday has turned into my lower leg equaling elaphantine proportions.  Not only that... 3/4 of my leg from about 3 inches above my knee, to just above my ankle is one big bruise.  Lou and I checked the colors... Concord, Wisteria, Razzleberry and a little Garden Green.   A veritable cornucopia of rich colors!  Lou thought you would never believe me unless I showed you, so he told me to take some pics and put them up.  I've made them small so that you have to blow them up to see them, just in case you are squeamish.  Seriously.... it's a bit of a mess :-)

So... be warned... card making can be hazardous to your health, and look at these pictures at your own risk.  :-)

Knee looking down... rather enlarged me thinks... can you even discern a knee in there???

this is the view looking on the inside of my calf... now.. onto the outside.. this was tough to get a photo of

especially, as I was lying on my side trying to photograph the lower part of my leg from the knee down the side of my shin!!!!  errrr... remind me not to do that again!

I'm guessing that I must have torn a ligament or two to get this much bruising, especially with the hot and cold places on my leg, the swelling, the stiffness and the inevitable pain. 

So... there you have it... what a mess!  However, nothing broken!  Surprisingly.  When one falls on concrete, with velocity and weight... it's surprising not to have a break.  I am very thankful for that, I can tell you!

Cherry on Top

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday night.

Firstly, a quick thank you to all of you who provided input on my stencil card from Wednesday.  I really appreciated you all taking the time to do that.

Secondly, a shout out tonight for Marcia.  She let me know that she has already packaged up 180 cards for the Operation Write Home card drive and that she is prepping more... WAY TO GO, Marcia.  That is, absolutely, phenomenal!

Now, on to tonight's card using the two sets:  Cherish Friendship and A Word for You.  I don't know, but sometimes it just takes me a while to "get into" my sets.  I think this year is going to be no exception.  I loved this cherry image from Cherish Friendship and immediately thought of the sentiment from a Word for You.  However, it took me ages to get the card to come together.  It started to feel like a Goldilocks story!  I tried it with a single image.  too small.  I tried it with a yellow bowl.  too bright.  I tried it with four images.  too big.  honestly, I putzed for ever.

I finall colored the three images, put Crystal Effects on the cherries and left them overnight.  This is what I ended up with... sorry you can't see that the cherries are really nice and shiny!

 

And... let's not forget that I colored the leaves in with my Old Olive marker on one of them instead of Pear Pizazz.  Note to self.  Put pens away immediately after use in THEIR CORRECT SPOT! :-)

I cut out a "spare" cherry from one of my discarded images, snipped it out, and put it as the dot on the "i" in birthday.  This is the only one, I think, that you can see the Crystal Effects.  Yes, Brenda, snipping out the cherry was ultra putzy! :-)

I  couldn't leave without a picture of the sleeping Bailey.  Now, Bailey is a very handsome, very regal, quite large, cat.  However, he is, without a doubt, a big girls blouse.  He loves soft things and has been known to be heard purring from two rooms away when he discovers a soft blanket, or warm sheets taken from the dryer!  He also sleeps with  his mouth open.  I caught this picture of him last night.  Can this be comfortable?  Seriously?

He looks like an old floor mop :-)  Sorry, Bailey :-)

Rach, you know I am still thinking about you, my friend!  Prayers and hugs to everyone who needs a little lift today.
