Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday night and welcome to Jaydee's SU stampin' spot. A quick post for you tonight - and yes, it's another Christmas card! Before we get started, I'd like to give a shout out to Darlene. I so enjoyed our "play date" today - so thank you!
Today's card is quick and simple and really easy to put together.
I used the Berry Christmas poinsettias and the Christmas punch hostess level 2 set. For this card I used the Ruby Red card stock and the Christmas Jingle scrappin kit. It really took about 10 minutes to cut the card and put it together.
I love the mixture of Old Olive and Ruby Red. It's such a soft combination. The Christmas Jingle scrappin kit uses Very Vanilla as it's base - but for the central image, I wanted it to pop from the background, so chose to stamp it on Whisper White.
I stamped the poinsettia's bracts in Old Olive and then the central flowers in Ruby Red.
I inked up the Oval stamp from the Christmas Punch collection with my markers in Old Olive and Ruby Red. Using markers is THE way to get a more interesting stamped image, because it is so easy to color the areas you want, with the color you want - even on a complex stamp.
I then rubbed over the image with a gel pen. (in retrospect, I really should have used my shimmer paint... but.. if you don't have shimmer paint then a gel pen will do the job :-)) (although, it isn't showing up too well on the photograph....)
I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday and that you get to spend time doing the things you love - with those you love the most. I'm hoping I will get time in my stampin studio the next couple of days... I have some 3D projects I just HAVE to make! I'm sure you have all been there... it's not something you want to do.. it's something you have to do... it itches away at you until you finally go and do it. :-)
As always, thanks for spending time in my area of the stamping blogosphere - your visits - and your comments - are always much appreciated.
Peace
Jaydee
