HI Everyone. Happy Monday Night. Tonight's card features the Favorite Thoughts set from the new Summer mini (120048) and Close as a Memory (114946).
I found another new challenge site – stampinroyalty. The sketch challenge 15 was to do a clean and simple card. You know I love my CAS cards. I really recommend you go check out the site and look at the inspiration projects as well as the submissions…. and… you know I encourage you all to play along!
I decided it was time to pay homage to one of the colors I actually am going to miss – Mellow Moss. I love this soft green. I wanted to pair it with Basic Grey. I really think Basic Grey is a fabulous, sophisticated neutral.
Usually, I don't stamp the sentiment over any other image… in this case, I decided it was about time I went outside of my comfort zone.
I stamped the flower image from Close as a Memory in Versamark. I love the effect that it gives. Because it gives a subtle effect, you can stamp a sentiment over it without losing the sentiment. (Oh, dear! I can hear Mrs Tucker, my English teacher berating me for starting a sentence with "because"!!! Isn't it amazing how these things stick with you many decades later?)
I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey and finished it off with a strip of Basic Grey Satin Ribbon and half pearls for the inside of the flowers. Normally I do a bow, but decided that it would cause a distraction from the right hand side of the card and the sentiment, so went with a straight piece of ribbon instead.I popped the whole thing on dimensionals.
Who couldn't love this sentiment, "there is nothing wrong with the world that a sensible woman could not settle in an afternoon"? Especially when it was penned by a man!
So… talking about strong women…. let's give a huge shout out to Rach who finally delivered Ellie into the world. I told her it would happen today…. I really did. It's always so exciting to welcome a new baby into the world – so congratulations to Rach. I know you will all want to go along and look at the post "She's here" and share a little love with Rach and her family and to welcome little Eleanor.
That's all for today. I have been on calls since 7am this morning and have my last one at 8pm. I'm then going to visit with a couple of my friends who have flown in for a two day meeting. Lou, of course, is out of town – again. He's been on the road for 6 out of 7 weeks and will be on the road for the next 4. The less said about that the better!!!!

Wonderful Card. I too am going to miss Mellow Moss. Sometimes I wish that SU had polled more of the Demo’s, it sure does seem like a lot of the favorite colors are leaving. I love your color combination of Mellow Moss and Going Grey, very sophisticated. I also like the simplicity of the card, because the sentiment really say’s it all. The pearls are a really neat touch. Thanks for sharing. Sorry for you that Lou is gone so much lately, I know that you must miss him terribly. Talk to the Furrbabies and stay busy stamping. The time will pass faster this way. May The Lord Jesus Christ Watch Over You and Bless You during this time and always. Congratulations to Rach on the Birth on Ellie, they are truly Blessed. I will continue to Pray for Germaine and hope that something comes up soon. I do know how frustrating it is waiting and not knowing. This too shall pass.
