Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday. I can honestly say that I am very happy it is almost the weekend!
Tonight's card is for a friend who is off work on sick leave. I wanted to make something bright and cheerful for her and used a color combination I can, quite honestly say, I don't think I have ever used before. Confetti, Poppy Parade and Tempting Turquoise. Yep. New for me!
Now, I wanted to use my favorite butterfly from Flores Suaves. Y'all know that I absolutely LOVE that butterfly. Well, I now have a new favorite! I downloaded this one from SU using MDS. It is absolutely gorgeous. It prints out beautifully, and is a complete joy to color. If you haven't checked it out – you can see it at this link – First Edition Digital. Oh… and in case any of you were regretting now having gotten Cardinal Christmas before it was retired, it is also available as an MDS download!
Here's what I came up with
I know you can't really see it, but there really is shading and color gradation on that butterflyl! Isn't it gorgeous, though! I mean, seriously! It's a stunning shape and, because you are using MDS, you can make it as big, or as small, as you want! I used my Copics to color it because of the printer ink.
On a personal note:
Very long few days this week. But I did manage to get a little stamping time in – and I always enjoy doing that. So, I have some cards to share with you this week !!!! 🙂
It got really cold here two nights ago – 20 degrees. We came downstairs and the water on our fountain had frozen. Solid. Mmm… there are some little birdies who are not happy about that at all! So, we had to turn it off and will bring it in this weekend. I will miss having it to watch over winter. I'm trying to think what else we can do instead. We can't use a water heating element on it, because I am more concerned about the ceramic getting damaged in winter than anything else.
As always, thank you so much for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits really do mean a lot to me. It also means a lot to me that you are sometimes able to stop and leave a comment.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Beautiful, Jaydee! I LOVE these bright and cheery colors! And thanks for the tip about the MDS butterfly. It really is gorgeous!
Very lovely Jaydee and so sweet of you to think of your dear friend. Guess I need to get use to using MDS for cards and not only my scrapping layouts.
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Hi Jaydee! Your butterfly card is gorgeous! I love the bright colors you used. I can say that I’ve never used poppy parade but you do it justice. That is a lovely butterfly too. I don’t have MDS and you are showcasing lots of reasons to get it! Slow to technology I guess. It scares me a bit. Silly huh! Maybe someday.
Our water froze too in our 25 degree weather last night. Time to find the heating element for our birds. I don’t have a fountain, just use the element in a shallow bowl of water for them. Not the most attractive but it is simple and works.
That is a bright and cheerful butterfly and utterly charming card. How could this not cheer someone up?
Cold? I *think* we may have dipped into the mid-30’s, but that’s it so far. I CAN tell you we still haven’t turned the heat on and it was 56 in my bedroom and 58 downstairs! We’re trying to hold out since it’s supposed to hit 70 next Monday. We’ll see how the kiddos do. ;o)
Meanwhile, the dog and kitty-boys have been cuddling up in a little big of a warm snuggly heap.
Bright and beautiful! Love those colors together.
Hope y’all warm up a little soon – but then again, I guess winter in on the way!
