From the Crypt

Hi everyone.  Happy Thursday….. Oh, yes!  The weekend is almost upon us.  I'm hoping my voice comes back this weekend, cos right now… Lou is enjoying some major peace and quiet!

Tonight's card is for the Palspaperart challenge this week.  They are having a Halloween theme.  Oh… and you know that I couldn't miss that opportunity!

It gave me an excuse the bring out From the Crypt, embossing folder, black and silver embossing powders, black lace and silver elastic cord!  Oh yeah….

I wanted to make the skull look as though the skin was still falling off the face… the way I accomplished that, was by using the versamark pen on the skull… but not in all the nooks and crannies.  This meant that the skull kinda looked like a Salvador Dali painting with the skin slipping off the skull!

I also lightly scuffed the debossed cobweb as well.   I also wanted to make sure that nothing was quite straight…. you know how you see those old horror movies and the lid of the crypt is slightly askew?!!!  Not much… but just enough that you notice it…. Well…. not sure I accomplished it… it might be a little subtle, but I didn't want to make it obvious either!  I love the softness – and yet creepiness of the black lace.

Anyway…. I had great fun making the card and it really gave me an excuse to use my silver embossing powder for something other than Christmas cards!

On a personal note….. I really hope to get some videos recorded this weekend, but all will depend on my voice.  I'm also hoping to get some crafting in.

The weather was cold today…. the leaves really are starting to turn.  According to the people at the nursery, fall is officially much earlier than normal.  In fact, we have been told that we can expect temps in the 40s tonight and low 60s tomorrow!  That's really cool for September.  Heavens knows what winter has in store for us!

Prayers tonight for Bob and Nichole; Lesley, Adelle, Rach (and their furbabies); T, Pri, Arthur, Sue and John and Germaine.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. This is just creepy! Skin peeling off? :shudder: I can see the *slightly* off square lace and image. Awesome job, Jaydee. :o)
I was chuckling at your temps because I literally just walked in the door and said to Brien, “It’s September, it’s 10:00 and it’s still 84 degrees. What’s wrong with this picture??” Oy.
Hot tea with honey is my go-to remedy for a croaky voice. No voice and teaching is NOT a good combination…;o)

  2. I love it! So perfect for the season.
Glad for your weather change. It must be a relief not to have the humidity. We continue to have beautiful weather-perfect for being in the yard!

  3. Wonderfully creepy Jaydee! I love creepy Halloween cards and with peeling skin this certainly fits the bill–eeek! I love how you have run two rows of the lace to make it look wider–fantastic!
