Paper Players Challenge 42 - Hello Blossoms - sneak peek

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night.

Ann has a fabulous color challenge for us this week.  I loved playing with these colors.  
Perfect for spring.  The colors?  Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Baja Breeze and Whisper White as the Neutral.

I received a new "single stamp" from the new Stampin' Up! summer mini and thought this was a great time to take it out and give it a little ink love.  I bought this stamp because it makes me happy every time I look at it.

For tonight's card, I decided to go the clean and simple route.  This made sure that I took nothing away from this fabulous image and sentiment.  All I needed was my markers, some iridescent ice embossing powder, my scoring tool, a little ribbon and some Stampin' Dimensionals. 

Here's the full card:

Card recipe - all ingredients Stampin' Up!:

• Card stock:  Whisper White
• Inks:  Poppy Parade, So Safron, Baja Breeze - all Stampin' Write Markers
• Accessories:  Iridenscent Ice embossing powder, Baja Breeze Seam Binding ribbon
• Tools:  Versamark pen, scoring board, Stampin' Dimensionals

1. To add a little interest, I scored the card base using my scoring board.  I made three lots of three scores 1/4" apart.  I made sure that the middle scoring fed into the base of the stamped image.
2. I then  cut the front focal panel to the height of the card base, but cut off each side and mounted it in the middle using Stampin' Dimensionals
3. I used my Versamark pen to go over the inked image and sprinkled with Iridescent Ice.  In the right light, it gives just the right amount of bling to this image
4. One piece of ribbon helped to underscore the sentiment and the focal image and stopped the image from appearing to "float"

I had a great time playing with this color scheme.  In fact, I made two cards with it.  I will share the other one with you later this week.  We hope that you will play along with us this week.  All you need to do is pop along to thepaperplayers and check out the challenge - and the fabulous cards provided by the design team.  Some amazing cards for you again this week.

On a personal note:

It's getting really tough to find time in my stamping space right now.  In fact, I have made 5 cards in 3 weeks.  That's crazy.  What with my damaged finger, not having time in my space, work, etc. it means that I don't have anything to share with you on my blog!  I am hoping that things will get back to normal very soon and that I can get back to creating stuff and then being able to share them with you.  I hope that you will forgive me if my blog posts are not as regular as they generally are. 

I am having real withdrawl symptoms from not being in my space... on top of that, because I am not getting to create, I find myself wondering whether I still can when I stand in front of my table!  Anyone else have that problem?  I would have thought that when I finally get into my space I would be full of all of these ideas that are tumbling out.... well... no... I stand and stare at a piece of paper on my desk and think... well... now what?  Oh well, I did get to make two cards today!  So that is real progress, right?

Spring is on her way.... we think..... the forecast for the next few days is for rain.  It's going to be great for the garden.  Maybe we will start to see our first green shoots then.

Clean and Simple - Happy Birthday and charity card drive showcase #5

Hi everyone

Happy Friday.

Very quick post tonight - I want to get as many of these cards in this post as I can before my feed burns in 14 minutes!!!!  ohhhhhh the pressure.

Here's my card for the cleanandsimple fall to layout # 79.  As well as the splitcoaststamping thinking of spring CAS challenge.  You know I can't resist a CAS challenge.

I used one of the first SU stamps I bought just before becoming a demo... A flower for all seasons (111592).  I just love this set.  If you want to get this set FREE with Sale-A-Bration, contact your favorite SU demonstrator to get more details on how you can be stamping with this gorgeous set for NOTHING!

I stamped the image on whisper white card stock and colored the image using my markers.  I decided to give the little bird a red face :-)  Doesn't the basket remind you of a Longaberger basket..... hi Beverly!!! my fabulously creative supplier for Longaberger! :-)

I colored the image with my markers and my blender pen.  The flowers are Orchid Opulence, Pretty in Pink, Yoyo Yellow and Summer Sun.  The basket is Crushed Curry and Soft Suede.  The bird is summer sun and Ruby red.  The images in this set are just so fun.

I matted the image with Pretty in Pink, Summer Sun and Orchid Opulence.  The Happy Birthday piece is Orchid Opulence printed onto Pretty in Pink.  3 half pearls finish off that layer.

The card stock is Confetti White.  I don't often use this gorgeous paper... but I love the fact that the flecks echo the colors in the stamp!  It really is gorgeous paper.

I wanted to showcase some of the other cards that we received as part of the charity card drive.

As clean and simple is the theme for tonight... here are cards from Kelli and her friend Tonya.  Kelli and Tonya used bright, cheerful and clean and simple for their cards for hugsandhope.org.

This card uses the "too terrific tags" and Wonderful Words II retired sets.  I love both of these sets and set against the Pumpkin Pie card stock... it's perfect.  

Here's another Pumpkin Pie card using Wonderful Words II - mixed with the Real Red Polka dot ribbon. I love this combination.

This card - again using the Pumpkin Pie - uses the Hello Again set... ANOTHER set you can get FREE as part of Sale A Bration.

 

This next card continues the great clean and simple theme but uses Old Olive and Sahara Sand.  Another combination I have used together, but love!

These cards show you how creative you can be with a limited amount of supplies - either paper or stamps!  The flower image is from fabulous hostess level 1 set - Of the Earth.

I love this color scheme of Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant and Sahara Sand.  Again, the reuse of the image from the Of the Earth set, the oval scallop punch and the scallop border punch. 

And who wouldn't love this fabulous butterfly card!
