Pocket Silhouette and A Flower for All Seasons
Simple Friendship - Color Throwdown #52

Inspired by Nature

Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday.  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.
I got some good playtime this weekend and have a few cards to share with you over the next couple of weeks.  For now though, here's a take on one of my favorite stamp sets Stampin Up's - Inspired by Nature.

I used the Saturday Sketch Challenge (stamping411.blogspot.com) number 109 as the inspiration.

But decided to change it around, just a little.  I turned it vertical instead of horizontal.  I cut out a square in Old Olive Card stock and then stamped the grass from the set onto acetate and placed this behind the cutout.  To make sure that you could see the grass, I backed the cutout and the acetate with natural white card stock. I inked up the flower with Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Old Olive markers.

Jaydee tip: If you are looking for a softer image, where you have control over exactly what ink goes where on your stamps, use the markers.  Using the markers creates a really soft, yet textural image on the flower and allows me to use the colors exactly where I want them.  Once you have finished inking the stamps, remember to huff on the stamp just prior to stamping.  This makes the ink wet.  Oh... and don't do what I did.... huffed a little too close and ended up with Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Soft Suede lipstick!  Didn't taste too good either :-)

Once I had two images stamped, I took my paper snips and carefully cut out the two images that I needed.  I then placed the cut out flowers on top of the acetate with a little glue and mini glue dots.  This gave me just the right amount of dimensionality I was looking for.  A little Old Olive ribbon and a sentiment from curvy verses and I was done.  I decided not to use brads (as in the challenge) but stamped two little ladybugs in the corner of the image instead.  The ladybugs are from the Whimsy Set.

On the personal front: Monday is my last day of vacation.  How come we can get to the end of a week's vacation and still not have completed anywhere near what we needed to complete.  Or is it just me?  My stamping space has been just a little too much of a distraction this week!

Hope you have an inkspirational day - and one where you can spend time with those you love - doing things you enjoy.  As always, thank you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  It's much appreciated.
