Trendy Trees on a Sunny Day

Hi Everyone

Looking for the Mojo Monday 95 card?  It's right here Mojo Monday 95 and thanks for looking!

Happy Thursday.  Can you believe it's already the middle of JULY?!!!!

Seeing as I have been blathering on about the weather and nature, I thought it was about time I posted a pic which depicted both.  I used Stampin' Up's Trendy Trees set.

Trendytrees on a sunny day

Jaydee tips:  I used a circular sponge (the type you buy at your local craft store - not particularly expensive) and ensured that I went in a circular motion from the second i put my sponge on the paper.  If you lay the sponge flat you will get a circle and that takes forever to get rid of.  so hit the page running so to speak.  A small amount of ink on the sponge and going back and layering is what makes this successful.  It's a really easy technique, the only thing you have to learn is the right amount of pressure for you and the circular motion.  Once you have that down... you are good to go.  For the trees.... use a Stamp-a-ma-jig.  It was the only way that I could really get them lined up, especially as the foliage has indentations which fit the trunks exactly.  Also, as you have torn the paper, you may have to go and fill in a little on the torn edge with a marker.

To give a little extra dimension, I stamped one tree again, cut it out and put it over the original stamped image.  An easy project, but a lot of fun to do.  I hope you enjoy.  I decided to put the "recipe" for the cards at the bottom of the post to make it easier to read.  Now, why didn't I think of that before? :-) Oh... and don't forget to take the poll!

On the personal front:  tomorrow is my last day at my day job for a whole week.  YAY!  maybe I can get some quality time in my stamping space.  I still have some sets I want to play around with a little more.  It was another glorious day here today.  I was working at my desk and looked out to see the twin fauns gamboling around the garden.  One of them came across a squirrel when she wasn't expecting it.  I'm not sure who got the bigger fright, or who jumped the highest!  They really are gorgeous and the Doe is a fabulous mother.... well, except when she eats my day lilies!

Have an inkspirational day, happy stampin' and, as always, thank you so much for stopping by to spend a little time in my corner of the stamping blogosphere.

New card up tomorrow!
