Whimsical Polka Dot Bermuda Bay Butterfly
17 December 2009
Hi Everyone
Happy Thursday and welcome to Jaydee's SU stamping space. Don't forget it's blog candy time until December 31... all comments will be included in the draw!
Tonight's card features another of the sentiments from the Whimsical Words SAB set. Now, I don't know about you - but I LOVE free stuff and the fact that this sentiment set is one of the SAB sets - along with the punch -really pleased me, because I really love them both. :-)
I used the MojoMonday sketch for today' s card . It's a really cool sketch
and for some reason I decided I wanted to do a butterfly card - and used Bermuda Bay and White. I decided to keep the background clean and put the focus on the butterfly and the sentiment.
Why this particular sentiment? Because butterflies make me feel happy! Once I had completed the card I was really pleased with it. You will notice that I used the new punch again for this card. I love the round scallops that are punched out with the dots on the butterfly, the half pearls, the dots from the texturz plate in the background, and the dots on the ribbon. It all feels right. You know how sometimes you build a card and something doesn't quite feel right... like the one I made tonight, I might add! Well, this card - just felt right. I also love the script - it has a lightness to it that I thought fit with the butterfly.
Card recipe:
- Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock
- Bermuda Bay ink
- new Scallop Border punch (available January 5 - also on SAB)
- new Whimsical Words sentiment set (available January 5)
- Scallop die
- Circle scissor plus for the two circles under the butterfly
- Butterfly die
- polka dot texturz die
- Half pearls
- Bermuda Bay Polka Dot ribbon
- Bermuda Bay DSP
Simple, clean and very easy to replicate if you have your big shot and you can make it in any color combination that suits your taste :-)
Tomorrow I should get chance to finish making some of my 3D items for Christmas and finish decorating. Yay!
I'd like to give a shout out to Kelli tonight - and thank her for her Christmas card! Kelli was the winner of my last blog candy give away and her website is such a joy to visit. I visit every day. You can visit Kelli at her outside my kitchen window blog.
Happy Friday everyone and as always - thank you so much for spending a little time in your day visiting my area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits are always appreciated.
Peace
Jaydee
