Happiness - Font of You

HI Everyone.  Happy Sunday night.  Tonight's card features one of my favorite sets... Font of You and one that is sadly set to retire tomorrow.  Sigh!  But, just because it is retired, doesn't mean to say that I won't be using it - I just can't sell it to you anymore!

As a reminder - the Mini Occasions and Sale-A-Bration both go live on Tuesday.  My order is in the system, waiting for me to press the enter key.  I'm really looking forward to receiving my new goodies and seeing what I can do with them.

I have a couple of Sale A Bration and Mini Occasions catalogs available.  If you do not currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and would like a hard copy, please send me an email and I would be happy to post them out to you.  I currently only have 8 spare to send out immediately, so let me know if you want one of them :-)  If you haven't seen the on-line versions yet, you can click on the links on my sidebar.

You may remember that Bilbo Baggins, my very capable, and totally adorable, assistant, pulled Missy's name as the winner of the December Blog Candy.  Included in the candy was this set!  So, Missy, this card is for you.  Enjoy your prize and thank you so much for your support.

Card recipe:

  • Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Melon Mambo card stock
  • Font of You stamp set
  • Melon Mambo DSP
  • Round clear rhinestone, which I "freed" from its housing :-)
  • Texturz plate for the Melon Mambo matt
  • My paper piercer for the dots around the central image.  Jaydee tip:  to stop the piercing getting "squished" - apply the paper that you pierce using dimensionals; this gives space between the matt and the focal image and keeps the holes nice and crisp
  • Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon
  • I inked up my image with Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Old Olive markers and applied the image to the Whisper White.
  • I used the same technique for the sentiment - this gave me the ability to color the sentiment words with different colors.

A quick and easy card with a layout that is easily interchangeable.  You can see my other Font of You cards here.

Last night was REALLY cold.  It was -20 and -40 with windchills.  I woke up in the middle of the night with a very cold nose... we sleep with the window open, you see!  Yes, we are NUTS!  When we woke up this morning the house was 45 degrees.  I couldn't work out why, until we realized that we had gone to bed and had forgotten to turn the heating back on.  Aaaarrrghhhh... .Even the furniture was cold.  It took quite a while for the house to warm up and my poor old man cat - Merlin (who is 16) was in heaven when the heating finally came on and he could like next to the register and soak up some heat into his arthritic bones!

It never ceases to amaze me how the animals in our yard cope with such intense changes in temperature.  Just amazing.  We feed and water them, and provide housing all through the year and it's so rewarding when the migratory birds come back at the end of winter.  I also love to wake up in very early spring to hear the mating call of the chickadee... then we know spring is on its way.

I only have two more days of vacation left!  It's been a great break and I have enjoyed having time to do things around the house, including clean out the storage area in the basement, etc. etc.  oh... and plenty of time to spend with my DH - who has been home so little this year - spending time in my stamping space and planning what I'm going to do with my new goodies :-)

Happy Monday to all of you.  I really do thank you for visiting and for your support.  If you have any questions on the projects I post, Stampin' Up products, or stamping in general, just send me an email, or leave me a comment.  I love sharing what I do.
