Butterflies for Breast Cancer

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday night.

Tonight's card is a RAK for a young woman fighting breast cancer - another RAK I did for Sparkly Hannah Day!  I saw this wonderful sketch challenge on just-add-ink and decided it would make a perfect layout for the RAK card.  Of course, I absolutely had to use pink - and my favorite Flores Suaves set.  Don't forget to pop along and see the fabulous design team inspiration - and submission cards.  I know you will find something you love.

Adelle, I finally found a perfect card for Blushing Bride - as per your request :-)   Even better, I found THE perfect ribbon to co-ordinate with it.  Pity it's retired!  I was really happy with the result.

Just-add-ink

Card recipe:  (all supplies SU unless noted)

  • Card stock:  Blushing Bride, Whisper White
  • DSP:  Subtles DSP (love this newly reconfigured DSP)
  • Stamps:  Flores Suaves (butterflies).  Sentiment non-SU
  • Accessories:  Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon, Basic Pearls (colored with copics)
  • Inks:  Basic Grey for the sentiment.  Copic markers for coloring

So, what do you think?  I was really happy with it.  It's one of the few times I have used Blushing Bride and I must say, I really think it coordinates beautifully with the Purely Pomegranate.  I think I might have to go to the clearance rack and order some more.   I really do love SU satin ribbon.  It's just so gorgeous to tie.

Rach, I know you will understand why I chose to use butterflies for my sparkly hannah day RAKs :-)

On a personal ntoe:

MORE cards on the way for our Operation Write Home Christmas card drive.  Soozie let me know that she had posted 80 cards for our drive.  YAY!!! Way to go, Soozie.  You are awesome.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart - and you know that you will have made 80 service men/women - and their families very happy.  Don't forget..... if you have some old Christmas cards sitting around that you haven't used, or maybe don't want to use this year.... please consider putting them into an envelope or a little box and sending them to help out our drive.  You still have a couple of days to get them to me.

Shout out to Beverly, too.  She knows why!   Jan..... I heard the weather in Perth was fabulous whilst you enjoyed yet another long weekend down under!

So.. I decided to add a twist to Wednesdays...... world-wide-web-wednesday.  the night when I showcase a couple of cards I found this week that really tickled my fancy one way or another!

Ah, I am really liking the butterfly you have here. The Jaydee's special touch always makes it WOW factor. And I like the sentiment. It's so fitting for any day and for anyone who needs a little bright and sunshine kind of day.

Stunning card Jaydee! I completely agree that Purely Pomegranate looks FAB with Blushing Bride. As usual your Copic coloring is divine. Beautiful card! Hugs, Nance

Thanks for the "shout-out"!
I'm sad to say I didn't get any cards made for the OWH card drive! I'm really not lazy (I don't think) but just never got them done! No excuse basically! Sounds like you're getting alot though and this is great!

Jaydee, Wow I love the butterflies! Thanks for the link to my candles and card. Kath

Rach

Wow! Purely Pomegranate is PERFECT with Blushing Bride! I'm going to have to dig into my stash and see what I can pull out.

The card is wonderful, and the recipient is blessed to have you thinking of her and praying for her. And, I certainly appreciate your use of butterflies. They are quite fitting. :o)

The pearls, as always, that Jaydee touch. ;o) I have to ask, where do you get the colored pearls?

I'm going to try to get some cards together for you. I have been a bit busy, though, so I can't promise anything... I'm SO sorry. :oS

Prayers to everyone and big Hugs!
Rach :o)

Such a lovely card. Blushing Bride-who would have thought!

My new ribbon rack lets me know that I have 3 rolls of this lovely ribbon. Must have been planning this several years ago when I purchased them and never used them. Looking forward to trying the ribbon with the paper.

Sorry that I don't have any cards for you. I have not made a single Christmas card yet. Not in the mood. Guess it might be time to put the trees up and begin decorating. Maybe that will help!

Beautiful card, Jaydee! The colors are wonderful!

I find this card very YUMMY!! Love all the elements and the colours, will have to order some of the subtles DSP. Think I still have some Purely Pom ribbon, but am sure I can find something to fit in if I don't!
Another lovely day here in Perth, hubby is on a weeks leave from TAFE so we took his folks to Mandurah for lunch at the Marina.

Cherie

WOW! Jaydee this is another stunner! I am contantly amazed by you and your beautiful cards. I'm extra glad now that I've hoarded some purely pomegranate paper and ribbon. It's perfect with the blushing bride. I can't wait to play with it myself.
Thanks too for the Wednesday WWW tour, The witch card was too funny, it made me think of my mom. OH, now that DID NOT come out the way it was intended!
Warm thoughts, hugs and prayers to those in need and to One & All, have a Great Day!
