Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday.
Tonight's card takes me back to my clean and simple roots. A place that always makes me feel at home - and comfortable. Like an old pair of pyjamas :-)
I LOVE the new Level 2 hostess set in the Holiday Mini - Peaceful Season. I saved up to buy goodies so that I could get this set. I just thing it is a gorgeous set. I love the large sentiments and the holly and the dove of peace. For tonight's card, I also wanted to keep the colors clean, with just a little pop of bright color.
You can see that I used the texturz plate on the card stock base. I also stamped the holly leaf from the set and then cut it out. Of course, I couldn't stop there..... I then took my Crystal Effects and covered the holly leaf and set it aside to dry. Once it was dry, I mounted it above my sentiment and added three little pearls for the holly berries.
I have no idea why this picture is showing a greenish tinge! I promise the card stock actually is white! I used my nestabilities to create the ovals and mounted them using stampin' dimensionals. The holly was also mounted using dimensionals.
Here's a close up for you
On a personal note:
Shout out tonight to JOYCE. Joyce let me know that she is sending cards for the Operation Write Home Card drive. Way to go, Joyce! You are awesome. I cannot thank you enough. I know that the servicemen/women - and their families will thank you too. I wish you could have seen me doing the happy dance. So, thank you Joyce!
I'd like to do a shout out tonight to Maw.... hey Maw :-)
I'd also like to thank those of you who viewed my coloring with classic ink and blender pens video and left me feedback. I really do appreciate that you did that. I'm also pleased that you learned something.
Adelle..... I love the fact that you took this card and made it in blue and green, too. Adelle also practiced her bow tying and it seems that practice does, in deed, make perfect :-)
Prayers tonight for Germaine. Haven't heard from you in a while my friend... hope you are OK. Missy... haven't heard from you either, Missy. I hope you are doing OK, too, my friend. For Sue - I hope your bruises are going away and that you are starting to feel better. For Cam. For T, Pri and John. For Adelle, Lesley and Rach - and their furbabies. And to those of you who are in need!
Thank you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits, your support and your comments are greatly appreciated.
I hope you all have a fabulous Friday. Oh yes..... tomorrow is Friday..... :-)
Dont forget... smile at a stranger... it may change their life.
Hugs
Jaydee
Adelle,
I used Crystal Effects on the snipped out holly leaf. I placed it on a flat surface and left it to dry. It takes quite a while. When using the Crystal effects, try to keep within the confines of the holly leaf and not go over the edge too much. If you do, its pretty irritating to try to remove the holly leaf.... ask me how I know :-)
hugs

I love this card. The clean and simple ones are the best! What did you use to get the embossed holly? Love it for Christmas.
I just received this set on Wednesday. Now should I play with it or practice my coloring? I just might get in the spirit of the holidays if I used this set.

Hi Jaydee! I think this card is absolutely stunning! I love the pearls as hollies! It's just the right touch! Sorry, I haven't been able to comment lately! A lot of things going on right now! I had a scare with my Mom and trying to help them move, volunteering at school, and some things going on at work has had me running around like a crazy woman! I will have to go back through and visit your old posts and try to catch up when I get the chance! Sorry for not visiting everday like I usually do! Having said that I still have thought of you all and prayed for you everyday! I caught myself looking on this post for her comments! I know she is still here with us! Thank you Jaydee for having this site and making us feel like we are ALL family! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Prayers to each and everyone one of you!

Jaydee, the simple beauty of this card made me catch my breath. You have some mad cutting skills, lady. Man! Look at the snipping you did on those holly leaves. Wow! You captured the glossiness of a holly leaf, and the pearls are a lovely touch. :o) Beautiful clean and simple perfection.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!
