Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday night.
I hope you are all having a great week.
I saw the fabulous color challenge across at Stacey'sstampinstage this week and couldn't resist doing something with this wonderful spring color combo. Yep.... I'm thinking about spring already. Actually, it was wonderful working with colors that weren't Christmas colors :-)
Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. What a gorgeous combo. Don't forget to pop along to Stacey's fabulous blog and check out the design team and challenge submission cards.
Bold Blossom was one of the sets I got for Christmas. It is from the new Occasions mini - which goes live on January 4th btw! I love the versatility of it. There is something very fresh about this cute little set. For $9.95 it was something I couldn't resist.
Of course, when I have a color challenge, I look for a sketch challenge to go along with it. Cardpositioning systems are having a "choose any of our sketches for the last year" challenge. It was a great way to spend a little time revisiting some of the fabulous sketches they have had. I chose to work with sketch CPS20. Nice and clean and I thought it was ideal for using with this new set. If you haven't visited the CPS site, you really should. Not only do they run challenges every week, but they also list their sketches on the side panel, so you are always guaranteed to find a great sketch to use and see the fabulous cards created using it.
Here's what I came up with using the sketch and the color challenges
I know the color looks more Bashful Blue, but I promise it really is Baja Breeze. I colored 3 basic pearls with my Copic marker that matches Early Espresso. I also used Early Espresso for the sentiment. Isn't "thank you for being you" just the perfect sentiment?
- Card stock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
- Inks: Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso
- Accessories: Basic Pearls, Pear Pizzazz ribbon
- Tools: Big Shot, Texturz plate (I texturized the background card stock as it has flowers that are very similar to the ones in the Bold Blossom set!)
Tip: want to know how I colored the Basic Pearls - check out my video by clicking on the pic below
A really quick and easy card that can be adapted for any color scheme. I'll be using this color scheme and this layout again!
Prayers tonight for Rose, Adelle, Germaine, Pri and for those of you needing a little lift tonight.
As always, thank you for spending a little time in my area of the stamping blogosphere. You know I appreciate it.
Have a fabulous Wednesday, everyone.
