Clean and Simple - Plane and Simple
04 March 2011
Hi Everyone. Happy Friday.. Oh... yes...that's right...it's Friday :-) Yay!!!
Tonight's cards feature the fabulous Plane & Simple (121903 wood, 121964 clear) set from the occasions mini.
Yesterday I quoted Scarlett O'Hara..... and her famous "tomorrow IS another day"! I thought it would be a good idea to share a photograph I took on the way to the Minnesota Regionals..... boy.... what a totally gorgeous, unbelievable start to the day. I forced Lou to stop at the side of the road because I really needed to take a picture. We missed the most picturesque location, with a perfectly placed farmhouse, redbarn and grain barn... but I settled for what I could get anyway.
This picture is completely unedited... the colors really were these colors!
Isn't Mother Nature glorious!
I hope to get some stamping time tomorrow and then will be able to have some cards to share with you. In the meantime I wanted to share a couple more fabulous projects from the regionals.
This card was created by Julie Frakie. I loved the colors she used. I never use Wild Wasabi, but really should. It's wonderful with the Chocolate Chip. This is a really great masculine card. I also loved the embossed layer under the focal layer and the two little brads on the happy birthday tag.
Unfortunately, the person who created this particular card didn't leave any details on the back of the card with their name. So, I can't credit the creator. I can tell you though that it is fabulous IRL. The background uses dry embossing and she used wet embossing on the plane. It also looks as though she has used the stone technique to create the fabulous background behind the plane.
Both of these cards are fabulous and I couldn't wait to share them with you, especially as I don't have this set personally. I hope you found some inspiration in both of them.
On a personal note:
Thank you to those of you who left comments of support for me last night... you really have no idea how much they mean. They meant a great deal to me!
I did manage to get another project finished today! At 5.00 I decided enough was enough for today and got away from my projects! I wanted to get my blog post done early, get my project loaded for tomorrow's Paper Players challenge, get chores done for tonight and then spend a little me time with the pussycats. Lou is coming home tomorrow evening, which is also a reason to celebrate :-)
Cherie.... you might want to know that Mr Charlie is starting to really mature. He is much calmer now and much more serene. Not an adjective I would ever have thought we would ever use to describe his lordship! He is still my constant companion and the boys are still trying to teach him what is right, and what is wrong. It's really interesting to watch the cats discipline the little tyke!
Prayers tonight for those of you who need a little lift or a warm hug.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Saturday.
Hugs
Jaydee
Gorgeous pic. it made me immediately think of my G'mother...she would have taken the pic, then painted from it.

Oh that is a stunning pic Jaydee. Thanks for sharing. I sure hope that you get your time in your room and breath some fresh air so that you get your mind off of your job. Have a great weekend.

Jaydee, thanks for the smile. I can just see Charlie transitioning from toddler to naughtly preschooler to properly trained school boy!
Thanks too for sharing the swap cards. I've never given this set a second glance as it's not my style. But these ladies have made me want to check it out. Hope you enjoy your weekend (the calm before the storm?)and welcome home Lou!
Warm thoughts and prayers to all those in need. And to One and All have a fantastic weekend.
