Paper Players Challenge # 41 - Sketch Challenge - Strength & Hope
Clean and Simple - One Layer - Strength and Hope

Thank you - Friends 24x7

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine?  Too short :-)

This card is one of only 3 I have managed to make in two weeks.  Yep.. three cards in two weeks!

I was inspired by the casestudychallenge this week to create this two layer card.  I decided it was about time I brought out a piece of DSP from a stack that I haven't even opened.  Yep... never been opened!  How sad is that.  It shows you that either a) I have too much stuff.... or b) I don't have enough time to use it.  I'm going with the latter :-)  Don't forget to pop along to the casestudy site to check out the inspiration card, as well as the design team and submission cards.

I am still pushing myself to use color combos that I don't generally use.  In this case... Concord Crush, Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum and Whisper White.  Guess what?  I actually loved it!!!

So, here's the card that I was inspired to create.

          Casestudy (7)

Card recipe - all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • card stock:  Concord Crush, Whisper White
  • Stamps:  Friends 24 x7.  Sentiment: Papertrey Ink
  • Accessories:  Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon.  Rich Regals button.  Silver elastic cord
  • DSP:  Presto Patterns.  This paper is white and is fabulous for the emboss resist technique as it is already embossed.  I took one of my sponge daubers and colored it using Concord Crush.  A small basic pearl was colored and used for the eye of the bird
  • Dies:  Nestabilities
  • Inks:  Soft Suede, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke Markers for the bird.  Concord Crush for the sentiment.

What do you think of the color combo?  I must admit, I will be using the Presto Patterns paper more now, too.  I don't know why it took me so long to use it.

This card will be going to one of my fabulous blog readers - not telling you who!  It will be posted this weekend, with a little token of my appreciation.

On a personal note:  This week is going to be another long week.  It's already 7pm and I need to go do some exercise.  Yes.  I NEED to go do some exercise.  My trips backwards and forwards to the doctors these last two weeks have shown that stress is starting to manifest itself in all sorts of places on my body.  The remedy, exercise and other forms of stress relief.  So... I have taken the doctor's orders to heart and will be starting to exercise at least once a day.  I have also taken to grooving on phone calls when I can.  Mind you, sometimes I think hitting a boxing bag might be the best way to handle some of these stressful calls :-)    Once I have exercised, I need to go feed the cats before they call the SPCA and then look at feeding myself!

I am still so thrilled that so many of you left comments, sent emails or posted cards for my birthday!  They were all much appreciated.

Prayers tonight for those of you who need a warm hug or a little lift.

Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone.  I hope you all get to spend some time enjoying this spring weather.  Yes... spring is definitely on her way.  I saw a herd of 25 white tails and a rafter of 8 turkeys in the garden on Friday.  It was wonderful.  Especially as we haven't seen the turkey's for a while!

Hugs

Jaydee

Oo, I LIKE this! The color combo is lovely. I really like that Presto Patterns paper and must invest in some--when I have a space to store it once more. ;o)

Exercise is a good thing. Really. :oP I feel so much better when I exercise now. Stress is a killer (seriously) and you need to take care of yourself. I'm glad you'll be doing that. :o)

Boy, that was quite the animal show you had the other day. :o) Spring is coming! (We had SNOW yesterday!! I was none too pleased, as my plants don't like the cold and snow...Gr.)

My prayers for those in need, and many hugs!

Another beauty! I keep hoping for spring, but this year, it just does not want to seem to show up! I'm trying to send you a card, but have lost your address. Can you pop it in an e-mail to me? Thanks a bunch! Take care!

It's nice to see some ideas for using the Presto patterns paper. I won some and haven't used it yet, so the inspiration is timely. Sure wish I could have seen your menagerie. My family raised a fawn when I was small. It was brought to us as we were the only farm with milk cows in the area. It was a real pet, but went back to the wild when grown, and ever since I've had a soft spot for those white tails.

Beautiful card! Again! Thanks for sharing with us and wishing you a fab day. Still cold in Ohio with temps just in the 20's at night and 40's during day! Hello, where is our Spring at?
Glad to hear that you are following Doc's orders, we want you in very good health. I mean, who else is going to wake us up with an email and a pretty card each morning? :)

These colors make my mouth water (does that read as weird as sounds in my head? Just no other way to describe it) It is such a rich card and not a color combo I would have ever thought of. Thank you for sharing it with us, even with your finger injury, stress from work and a generally busy life you still manage to take time for your readers. Thank You Jaydee! Have a wonderful day, enjoy the sunshine and creatures.
Warm thoughts and prayers to those in need and wishes for a wonderful day for One and All!

Jaydee, everything about this one just says class and elegance! I recently purchased the Presto Patterns paper and have yet to use it. Thank you so much for the gorgeous inspiration. Please try to get some rest when you can this week! Thinking about you and sending you a hug! :)
