Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night. Oh, yeah! We are heading for a long weekend - and I have a few days off after that.... I am one happy lady!
Tonight I have another card for you made during the splitcoaststampers virtual stamp night - so another card that took 45 minutes or less. This one took less. The challenge was to use the spotlighting technique. It's not a technique I use very often, but decided that the cat on the chair from the Peace Within set would be a great one to use with this technique.
Here's what I came up with:
I was quite pleased with it. I also love the pop of Tangerine Tango with Marina Mist. I've never put those colors together before, but was quite pleased with how it came out! So, what do you cat lovers think? I think it's perfectly representative of a cat..... asleep on a warm summer afternoon, with a little grin, on an old worn, warm wooden chair!
Card recipe - all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted
- Card stock: Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Whisper White
- Stamp: Peace Within
- Inks: Basic Black for the sentiment. Copics for the focal image
- Tools: 1 1/4 circle punch
Adele, I can't believe that you made 50 X cards! I am not sure I would make another one... I suppose once you have the measurements down it is faster, but fiddling with the one for last night's post drove me nuts. So, you are my hero for making 50!
On a personal note:
The storms across the states continue and my heart continues to go out to those affected. The weather is certainly turbulent and doesn't seem to be showing signs of abating anytime soon. Here, we have had winds and rain, but luckily have been spared the worst of the weather. I hope everything is good where you areLou was on his way to Chicago today. His plane was supposed to leave at 6.50 - they finally took off at 1.06. Delayed because of bad weather in Chicago.
The garden is certainly loving the rain...... it just needs a little more sun for everything to come to life. OH! We did have the Oriole pop in to see us yesterday evening. Lou and I were sitting out on the deck for a little while before dinner - and in he swooped. It was fabulous of him to visit, even for a little time!
Prayers tonight for those who continue to be affected by the storms, and for those of you who need a little lift or a warm hug.
Have a fabulous Thursday everyone and thank you for visiting my blog. You know your visits and your comments are greatly appreciated.
Hugs
Jaydee
P.S.... One week until the SU demos get a look at the previews from the new catty! Oh, yeah!
The perfect set for this technique! A fabulous card!

This card is awesome Jaydee! I love the spotlighting! My best friend is a cat lover. She would love this card! Even though this cat is different than Charlie it reminds me of him! Thanks for sharing another awesome creation with us!
Prayers to all who are in need and especially my neighboring states affected by the storms. It got pretty rough last night. A LOT of lightning going on & very strong winds but no damage here!

Love it! Just looks so real with the kitty zzzz on the chair. Love the stamp (where did you get it?) . . . Love the color combo too. You are just one fab lady. You know that? Right? :)
Thanks for sharing with us. Have a great day.

That pop of Tangerine Tango is fabulous. The kitty was a perfect choice for this technique. So sweet. I can see him dozing in the sun. :o)
My heart is wrenched every time I see photos and hear of all the devastation. My prayers for all affected.
