Hi Everyone. Happy Monday.
It's been a while since I managed to play along with challenges, including Casestudy. The inspiration for case-ing this week had a couple of distinct features that drew me..... the wood print, the red and brown, the extravagant ribbon, the patterned paper and the bright white of the focal layer.
Here's the inspiration card
I decided I really wanted to keep the color scheme but change out the sentiment to fit the Christmas Lodge stamp set. Pairing it with the complementary Frostwood Lodge DSP was my next step. When Lou saw this card his response was.... "it's great. and it feels so cottagey!" Considering that was the feel I was going for, I was very pleased at his reaction.
Here's my take on Julie's card
Can you see the inspiration? It's so rare that I focus on the sentiment, but thought that this was the ideal opportunity. I couldn't help combining two matching colors of the seam binding ribbon, too. I think it adds so much. It's an unusual color scheme for Christmas, but does pull from the colors of the Frostwood Lodge dsp. I am sure that the casestudy team would love it if you popped along and checked out the inspiration and submission cards. It's amazing how many different cards can be made from one inspiration!
On a personal note:
Well, I must admit I got homesick today. It was cold, wet, drippy, dull and gray... . the whole day. It reminded me of England in February! Made me homesick for all the wrong reasons! Yep.... it was one of those days where you want to cuddle up in front of a fire, with a cat on your lap, a mug of steaming hot tomato soup, and a really good book. Unfortunately, I spent all of it on the phone!
I hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
Such a lovely card. I love the colors and especially the "flannel" look. You haven't done a video in a long time. How about showing us the double bow?

I like everything about this card. The color combination, the ribbon, dsp, and the wood texture are all so fitting. So crisp and clean. I need some of your inspiration to rub on me...sure could use some lifting.

Hi Jaydee, from the photo, the card looks warm for a dreary day. The red and white looks like flannel, to cozy with.

Love how you pulled all the colors and it certainly would make a cozy B-day card during the holidays. Thanks for sharing with us. Hi Lou, glad to hear you are home for a while.
Ohio's weather was just like yours yesterday and it made a real good stamping/scraping day as I am really busy with customers. Lots of soccer this week, with the cooler weather. : ( Our fair starts this weekend, so some yummy candy apples are in store for me! Have a great day.

I can most definitely see the inspiration. And, given the type of day you had weather-wise, this seems entirely fitting.
Those are NOT the kind of autumn days I like. :oS How dreadful to spend it on the phone and NOT with a good book. :sigh:
Here's hoping tomorrow is crisp and clear!
Hugs!
P.S. Hiya Lou! I hope you are well! :o)
