Hi Everyone. Happy Monday night.
I have a very quick post for you tonight. I saw this great challenge across at cas-ualfridays.
Now... who could resist that? Not me. I also knew exactly what set to use, too. I bought this GinaK set about a year ago and have only used it a couple of times. I couldn't resist pulling out the starfish and the "you're a star sentiment". Punny, right ? :-)
Here's my card - dedicated to the very talented B and W - for winning their respective science and robotics competitions... way to go both of you.
Isn't that just the cutest??? I mean seriously! This set always makes me smile.
Here's what I used:
- Card stock: Pool Party (smooth and textured)
- Stamp set: Gina K Quite a Catch - starfish and sentiment
- Inks: Copic markers
- Accessories: Googley eyes (couldn't resist adding those!)
- Tools: Polka dot embossing strip; Color Spritzer (SU) with Soft Sand marker; Twine. Scalloped Tags - Sizzix
I know you will enjoy a visit across to cas-ualfridays to check out the great inspiration and submission cards - and why not play along?
I really wanted some texture on the card and using the textured card stock and the embossing strip helped to achieve that. In addition, a little spritzing with the color spritzer allowed me to add a little more dimension. The dots also tied into the dots on the embossing strip that ties into the dots on the starfish.
On a personal note:
Merlin is doing much better. He was back at the vet this morning to make sure that he was ok - and everything is checking out well so far. We aren't sitting back and taking anything for granted yet, though... because we thought were were safe last time, too! He does seem to be feeling a little better, although the stitches in his bladder and abdomen are certainly causing him so discomfort. Poor old man.... he really is an incredible trooper and he still maintains a purr and a head butt and cuddles up in bed. I know that we just about to take a mortgage out on the house to pay the vet..... but he is so worth it! Thank you to all of you who have offered up support for him.
As always, thank you for visiting my blog. I really appreciate your visit and your comments. Warm hugs and prayers for those who need a little lift tonight. Pammie... extra big hugs for you, my friend.
Hugs
Jaydee

I know any number of people who would be delighted to receive such a punny card. It's so cheery and bright and FUN! I love the texture and the contrast of the sea star's color with the Pool Party(?) paper. Such fun!
I'm delighted to read it seems Merlin is once more on the mend. I've been very worried.
Hugs and prayers for those in need.

Thanks for the dedication. I will pass it on to both of them! Glad to hear that Merlin is better. Please let me know when you can get together. B has been asking about you and I know she wants to show off her acquisition that you inspired.

The card is so cute Jaydee. Glad to hear about Merlin doing better and he still has purr's because of the wonderful care that he is receiving. (can I come and be a cat at your house) You mean now you can't build on my suite cause of Merlin ... well! Have a great day.
