Hi Everyone
Happy Sunday. For the Paper Players challenge this week, the fabulous Anne Marie has a theme challenge
Now.. this really had me stumped..... but I realized I could use an old set I had called The Funny Farm from GinaK. I spent far more time than I had ever intended coloring this card. I also decided that it needed to be "fun coloring" as opposed to serious coloring as the set just lends itself to that. The coloring was, as always, therapeutic and allowed me to switch off from all the things that I need to do around the house. Errrrr that was, until I had to stamp on the sentiment! Aaaaarggggh... I need to go pack some boxes and sort through clothes and sort out the basement and pack the garage and ....and....and... :-)
Here's my simple card
That moocow looks like I feel :-)
Don't forget to pop along to the Paper Players and play along with us this week. I know you will all have a lot of fun with this challenge. Pop along and say hi to our guest designer for this month, too.
On a personal note:
Lou and I were at the house on Friday meeting with the builder for placement of the patio, the landscaper and all sorts of other things. Wow... had things changed since we were there on Wednesday. The framer was in and all the cupboard has been put in place. No longer did our kitchen area look like this, which is how it looked on Wednesday afternoon.
By Friday lunchtime, this is what it looked like.....
I know it's really hard to judge size, but to give you an idea the island is around 7' wide and the granite will be about 4' deep. It's going to be a fabulous island and I can't wait to see it all come together. We decided to stain the cabinets along the back and side and use a lighter colored granite. The granite on the island is dark and the island itself is painted. I thought that would look good against the dark wood floor.
Now... I'd like to show you why I reversed the position of the stove and the sink. Originally the stove was on the back wall and the sink in the island. That really didn't work for me, because I wanted to be able to see the view when I cook. Here's the view and I think you can understand why I changed them around :-)
I'll have more pictures for you tomorrow, including some of our new deck and the view from the deck. I'll also share with you the pics from our hotel stay. Wow.... They upgraded us because I asked for a bath.... I really was dusty from walking around and wanted a long hot soak. Well, I certainly got that, and more!
Ann.... I wanted to let you know how thrilled I am that your results came back negative. I am so happy for you.
Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight. Have a wonderful Sunday
hugs
Jaydee
