Stampin! with Jaydee

The talented gals across at Freshly Made had a great sketch this week.  I really knew what I wanted to do with it the minute I saw it.... but.... I'm not sure what came out on my crafting table, was quite what I had in mind!

Here's the sketch

I changed out the central element from being oval to a label instead.  That's because I knew that I wanted to use one of the sentiments from the SU MDS Digital Stamp set - Fantabulous You.  Once I saw the sentiment, I knew that I had to pull out my most favorite DSP - Patio Party!

Here's what I came up with

I am really in love with Summer Startfruit - and I really didn't think I would be!  I madly in love with Midnight Muse and I am in love with this DSP.  I honestly think that these are the best In Colors that SU has come out with and I hope they stick around.  Summer Starfruit reminds me of Kiwi Kiss, but is much softer.  The DSP - is AWESOME.  I haven't found a sheet that I don't like.

Because the image of the cupcakes and pinwheels is pretty bold, I decided to soften it with vellum.  Always my go to technique when I want to send a pattern "to the back".  I am really excited that SU is coming out with MDS2 later this year.  This upgrade will definitely be on my purchase list.  One of the great features it is going to have........ you can print a "stamp" with more than one color!

Well, I know that the lovely gals across at Freshly Made will love you to pop by on Wednesday when they reveal a new sketch.  The sketches really are fresh!

On a personal note

Oh... yeah!!!!! This is me doing the happy dance.   Twist. Turn. Jump. Shout.  Scream!  Why?  Furniture is arriving tomorrow!  Some of our furniture for the great room is arriving.  Our chairs for the dining table are arriving.  Lou's desk chair is arriving.  Our media console for the downstairs family room is arriving.   Our bedside tables and dresser are arriving.  mmmmmm... Pity the bed isn't arriving, too!  We still have lots of holes.  For example, dinette chairs with no dinette table!  A media console but no furniture.  Our side chairs for the great room are not arriving for another week.  Oh.... and our coffee table for the great room.  Mmmm... sometime in OCTOBER!  We can't get paintings on the wall and things until the furniture is in place, so it's going to be a little while until we are settled... but I am so happy that we will have something to sit on other than a camp chair!

Linda.... as you enjoy seeing the pics of the "animal of the day" :-)  I have a new bird picture for you.  This little fella has been hanging around on top of the hummer feeder shepherd hook.  It took me a while to work out what he is.... He's and Eastern Phoebe.  You can learn more about him here. 

I can't leave without another pic of my very handsome Bailey.  He loves the new scratching post we bought.  You might be wondering why on earth it is in the middle of the carpet in the entry hall.  Ah.. that's because they have been using the carpet as a scratching post!  So, we bought a new scratching post, covered it in catnip, all in the hopes that it will cure them of scratching our gorgeous carpet.   Bailey... well, he really is a bit of a catnip addict!

I have a favor to ask all of you with prayer lists.  Please can you list the daughter of the young couple who have purchased our old house to your prayer list.  She is going in for brain surgery and I'd like to be able to send her, and her parents, all the positive vibes and prayers that I can send through the universe.
