Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's really hard to believe that we at the Paper Players are celebrating our 100th challenge!!!! It has been an amazing ride and I am so grateful to Lesley for inviting me to join the team way back in June 2010. I have loved every minute of it. Lesley, thank you, my friend. I cannot thank you enough. Not only did you ask me to be a part of the team, but you introduced me to a fabulous set of fellow crafters that I am so pleased to know - even though most of them are virtual friendships. Lesley has created a wonderful environment for the design team, and players, and I am so grateful.
I am also grateful to my blog readers who have been along on this journey with me. Thank you, too.
As it is our 100th challenge, Lesley suggested that each of us choose one of our favorite challenges from the past challenges and redo a card for that challenge.
It was amazing going through all of the challenges and seeing the cards that we had made back in 2010/11! I choose one of our earlier challenges, the Snowmen challenge - Paper Players Challenge 23. You can see the original set of design cards and submissions at this link.
For this new take on the challenge, I was compelled to pull out my Snow Much Fun set. My original card had been a clean and simple card and I decided that this time I would use a few more techniques, fussy cutting (I would never have done that back then!), some glitter, embossing folders, multiple layers and lots of Stampin' Dimensionals.
Here's a closeup of the layers and detail on the card
Here's the full card
I went back to the classic Christmas colors of Real Red and Garden Green. Two different embossing folders and lots of sparkle. I had such fun making this card.
So, we really hope that you will join us across at the Paper Players and play along with us. There's lots of choice for you. You can choose any one of our past theme, sketch, color or inspiration challenges. I've also created a pdf list of the past challenges to make it easy for you. All you need to do is download this pdf Download Challenge list and it has links back to all of our challenges.
Now, on to my card. I really wanted the snowbanks to have more texture and not be quite as crisply white, so I pulled out some watercolor paper, tore it, add a little sparkle, layered it, with my snowmen between, all add to the depth on the card. The deets for the card are all at the bottom of this blog post
You really need to pop along and check out the other Paper Players blogs to see what they have chosen. For once, none of us know what each other choose - so it's as much of a surprise for us, as it is for you. I can't wait to see what they have all done. Check our their blogs below - and then pop along to the Paper Players and play along.
Have a wonderful Sunday. One filled with warmth, laughter and time spent with those you love.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card details - all Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
- Card stock: Whisper White, Garden Green, Real Red, Night of Navy
- Inks: Basic Black for the sentiment. Snowmen were colored using Copic markers
- Tools: Big Shot. Petals-a-Plenty textured embossing folder on Real Red layer. Snowflake embossing folder (Sizzix) Night of Navy layer. Crystal Effects were added to the top of each of the snow layers and 3 layers of dazzling diamonds glitter was added.
- Accessories: Button (non-SU). Ribbon - I used a piece of leftover Chrismas wrapping ribbon, shredded it, fed it through the button and tied it.
Embossing folders have change our lives!! What would we do with out them now?! Love that you used Chistmas Colors and that you used one of my all time favorite stamp sets! Your Card is really fun! Congrats on 100 challenges!
Hugs

Awww, jaydee! Challenge #23 was a great challenge because it was the first challenge that all of you lovely ladies welcomed me as a GD. I remember how much I stressed about making my card that week. Yikes!
I absolutly love your card with this fun, snowy scene! You, my friend, have some mad fussy-cutting skills, as well. Wowza! So pretty and the texture really pops! I am so glad to be a part of this wonderful team celebrating 100 challenges! Big hugs sent your way! :)

Beautiful Jaydee! I love the snow layers and how the snowmen are tucked inside. Such a neat look. The dark blue sky is brillant. This is a card I would put inside a frame and hang for the holidays. It's so pretty!
