Peace on Earth
19 December 2012
Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday night.
Some of you have written asking me to show you where I get inspiration for cards. Well, tonight, I found the perfect post to share that inspiration with you.
The other night, I noticed that the sky was turning pink in our cul de sac. I went outside to take a look - and this is what I saw
The colors intensified....
Isn't that amazing? No touched up colors - absolutely as I took it. I waited a few minutes longer and the sky changed to this
It even made the snow pink and blue! it was amazing. Then I remembered a card that we had created on Jennifer McGuire's Holiday Card Workshop and knew that I absolutely had to replicate that card. I changed up the sentiment, but otherwise, it's pretty much as it was shown to us on this fabulous class.
Easy to see the inspiration, right? If you had looked at the card you would think that this is surely not a winter color card... yet the stunning sunset the other night, with the snow on the ground, proved to me that it was :-)
If you haven't tried one of Jennifer's classes, you really should. The cards are generally clean and fabulous and the team is wonderful at sharing tips and techniques. I'll have a couple more cards that I made from the workshop to share with you over the next week.
On a personal note:
Today is supposed to be my last work day, but I will be working tomorrow morning. After that, I have two weeks off to spend time with my hubby. We need the time together as Lou has travelled just about every week this year and returned on Friday last week from nearly 3 weeks in Asia. So, some down time is needed. I'll also be finishing decorating the house tomorrow.
As I know many of you are, I still continue to be affected by the shootings last Friday and my thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the families who have been affected. Thoughts and prayers, too, for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
ETA: When I visited Rach's blog last night, I noticed that she had a post which highlighted a small thing that we could all do if we wanted to do something to help in the Newtown shootings. I will certainly be supporting it - you can check Rach's post here.
Have a blessed Thursday.
Hugs
Jaydee
