Little Additions - Paper Players #128
12 January 2013
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday night.
The fabulous Anne Marie has a great color challenge for us this week
Color challenges are always the hardest challenges for me, as I really am stuck in my old ways with colors. I don't tend to lean towards brights or pastels. I'm really a neutrals or gem color person! So, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point werea real challenge for me. However, I had the perfect excuse to use them as we needed a baby boy card.
I realized that I didn't have a baby set anymore! I donated Baby Bundle to charity when we moved. Mmmm.... so, you can guess what I had to do, right? I went rushing off and opened up MDS2+ and, lo and behold, Little Additions is part of the download! Yay!
I used Daffodil Delight sparingly and Pacific Point and Basic Gray go beautifully together. Once you see the design team cards you will realize what a great combo Anne Marie put together for us!
Here's my card for little Hunter. Yep, his name is Hunter!
I placed the elements to create a clean and simple baby space and colored them using the coloring tool within MDS. I then printed out the composed vignette, but printed the baby crib twice. I fussy cut around the second baby crib and popped it over the printed one. I really wanted it to pop a little from the page. I printed out the sentiment and layered it over a Pacific Point layer. I used a Gelly Roll pen to give some glimmer and sheen to the little dots on the light shade and on the mobile. A silver metallic dot helped to anchor the mobile.
The color really is Pacific Point, but I've noticed that my camera picks up ink colors differently to the colors of the card stock as they are not as saturated.
I couldn't wait to use the new Silver Buttons from the spring mini. LOVE THEM! It was just what I needed to help carry the metallic theme. I really think the card is masculine without being overly masculine and I know it has a button on it... but I think Hunter is a little too young to object! Also, because it is silver and metal, I think it's perfectly OK for a guy card!
Here's the inside - sorry about the distorted view :-)
Now, don't forget to check out what the talented design team have for you.
