Baby Steps for Paper Players # 133
16 February 2013
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
The fabulously talented Anne Marie has a great challenge for us at the Paper Players this week.
A CAS baby card featuring buttons and bows! I decided to download the Baby Steps digital stamp from Stampin' Up! and have a little fun with it. I also decided not to create a boy card, or a girl card, but a card that could be used for either. Grey and yellow were my color scheme.
Sizing and coloring the elephants is a breeze in MDS. I used some So Saffron Patterns Paper and So Saffron and Basic Gray card stock. I found a great sentiment for the outside and the inside in one of my PTI sets. I didn't have any So Saffron ribbon, so used my Summer Starfruit ribbon instead. I paired that with a So Saffron button and some white Baker's twine. I must admit, I was pleased with the final result. :-)
I decided it needed just a little bit of bling, but pearls weren't quite right - and neither were rhinestones. So, I pulled out some sequins I purchased at JoAnn's and adhered them using Crystal Effects.
Here's the inside.
We hope that you will join us this week and play along. In the meantime, you really need to check out the fabulous inspiration cards from the design team:
Don't forget, blog candy still up for grabs through tonight! All you need to do is leave a comment on this card and you will be entered into the draw that occurs tomorrow. I'll be back tomorrow night with the winners of the blog cand advertised on this post. I really do appreciate all of you that have played along and helped me celebrate my 1,000 post.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight. Have a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs
Jaydee

What a perfect card! How beautiful! You just simply make the best cards, and the colour combo is just right. It has never occurred to me to use sequins so that has to go into my idea file.

Beautiful Jaydee! The color combo is perfect and this sweet stamp is adorable. I love the simple bow and added sequins to really make the stamp center stage. Doesn't get any cuter!

I'm laughing here because I need to make a baby card for my girlfriend who will be delivering a healthy baby boy today and I was planning on using these colors! Great minds and whatnot, no? ;o)
And, how perfect the challenge this week is to make a baby card. Excellent!
Of course, I'm now working through how in the world to use a bow on a boy's baby card...Eek.
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou!
