You're brilliant
24 February 2013
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. Hope you are having a great weekend.
I got some playtime in my crafting room today and managed to make three cards for CAS challenges.
I saw this great sketch across at cas(e)thissketch.
I loved that it could be turned horizontal or vertical. Once I had decided on a vertical image I knew exactly what stamp set I wanted to use. It was one of those that fell into my basket whilst visiting a store recently! Well, actually, that's only partly true! It was also a set that was used on the CAS2 onlinecard class that I did. I loved the cards that they created using this set and, when I saw it in a local store, decided that I wanted to play around with it, too. I'll recreate a couple of the cards that they made on the class in future weeks.
I knew the image I wanted to use, but wasn't sure what to do with the sentiment. I then came up with the brilliant (excuse the pun!) idea for placement...here's what I did:
The black angled element works really well with the black focal point. Even though you can't see it, I used my Spica pen on top of the yellow areas, just to give it a little more shimmer and shine.
I was really happy with the card and it came together very quickly. I'll certainly be using this sketch again.
On a personal note:
It's a beautiful day here today. 34 degrees and the sun is shining. glorious. it makes me feel that spring might be on time this year and I can't wait for spring. I also can't wait for the farmer's market to open, but that's not until May! Wow. As I typed that, I realized that the opening of the farmer's market will herald a year in our new home.
We did see our little visitor last night. At around 10pm we saw him on the steps of the front porch. However, he saw us through the window and decided that he wouldn't hang around. We are hoping he comes back tonight and fills up his belly.
I'll be back tomorrow night with another challenge card and some blog candy. Great blog candy, too!
As always, thanks for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere. Your visits, and your comments, are greatly appreciated. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
