Patio Party and Beautiful Wings for Retrosketches
27 March 2013
Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday. Not sure about you, but I am glad we are only a couple of days away from the weekend!
I have a quick post for you tonight. I saw this great sketch across at retrosketches
I decided to bring out the Patio Party DSP and pair that with the Patio Party MDS stamp set. I sized the circle and the sentiment in MDS and used the DSP as the inspiration for the colors on the sentiment. I needed to add a couple of elements on the sentiment to fit with the sketch, and thought that using two small butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslit would help to draw attention to the butterflies in the DSP. I glued them down so that one of the wings would be off the paper to add a little movement.
Here's my finished card:
I'm going to have to update my photo editing software again this weekend! Grrr... anyone have any good ideas for good photoediting software for Mac? Right now I'm using Aperture and it's not playing nice!
I've just finished the most recent onlinecardclass with Jennifer McGuire called Pattern Play. I took the class because I really am hesitant to actually pair patterned DSP. Taking the class really encouraged me to actually pair these two different pieces of DSP from the same pack!
Anyway, don't forget to pop along to retrosketches to check out the great design team and submission cards. Oh, and play along, too!
I'll be back on Friday with another card. In the meantime, have a wonderful Thursday and warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
