Pleasant Poppies

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday and Happy Easter!

A very quick post for you tonight.   It's 7.30 and I haven't even fed the cats yet!

I didn't buy the Pleasant Poppies stamp.  Don't ask me why?  Maybe because it felt too big.  However, I was thrilled when I saw that it was a digital stamp with MDS.   Mmmmm... Now we are talking!

I decided to give it a try and paired it with the A Word For You stamp set - one of my favorite SU sentiment sets.  When I was looking for the color to pair it with, I found the perfect color in the new Sent with Love DSP.  Yep, Calypso Coral.  I haven't used this color much, but am really loving it since this DSP came out.  It's a much softer color than Poppy Parade; not quite as intense.

Here's what I came up with:

I know you can't see it, but I used a gold gelly roller to color in the middle of some of the poppies, so it gives it a little shine.  I then took a normal gelly roller and highlighted the areas that the artist had shaded.  The hatched areas.  It's really pretty in real life, as there is just a little bling, but not too much.

As the sentiment said "for you, from me", I thought it needed a little something to make it look as though the flowers were a bunch.  I tried carrying some baker's twine all the way across, but it looked odd.  So, I used my needle and thread, and some Calypso Coral Baker's twine, and "wrapped" just the middle bunch of flowers, instead.  I applied a little Crystal Effects to the bow to help in stay in place.

Well, that's all I have for you tonight!  I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card and it's my turn to host the challenge tomorrow.

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift.

Hugs

Jaydee
