Indigo Sent with Love for Case This Sketch
22 April 2013
Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. Hope you all had a great weekend. We did. It was just too short! :-)
I got very little time in my stamping space this weekend and only managed three cards. One of them was my Paper Players card, so you have already seen that one! This one uses the sketch across at casethissketch.
It took me quite a while to work out what set I was going to use for this sketch. I had really been drawn to using a stamp for the vertical elements, but decided I would use some DSP instead. I like that this DSP has both a vertical and horizontal image and thought it would play well with the sentiment. Of course, that meant that I had to incorporate some Calypso Coral into the card. It's a very strong color for me, but I do like it when paired with Island Indigo and white.
I also used a little of the washi tape that came with my This and That bundle. I added a piece behind the "special delivery". It helped to give that element just a little more "weight".
Here's my take on the challenge
I was a little annoyed that I didn't manage to cut the DSP so that I got the dots on all 4 sides! But by the time I realized that, I had already glued the Calypso Coral layer down onto the Island Indigo!
You should pop along to casethissketch and check out the challenge!
On a personal note:
Colleen B, thanks for reminding me that I had not counted the citizens of West, Tx in my post on Saturday. Our thoughts and prayers do indeed go out to them all.
We noticed a little movement in our wooded/wetland area yesterday. I got out my camera
Look who was out and about. Very skittish, I might add. She seems to have survived winter very well. Considering the length of this winter, and the severity of it, I was a little worried about her.
We are thrilled that she choose our little neck of the woods to call her home.
Lou and I saw another film festival movie this weekend. I, Anna. Mmmm... great actors, but not my favorite movie. I love a good film noir. The key word is GOOD. This wasn't. The film was artistically filmed, the actors are exceptionally talented. However, the script was weak, the threads were very loosely connected and the ending was obvious about 10 minutes into the movie. Not very satisfying! Actually, the most suspenseful part of the movie was wondering when a woman of almost 70 would fall off her 5" stiletto heels!
Rach, you asked about Lou's reaction to coffee being the drug of choice in Greenwich Village. Errr... yep.... he laughed and harrumphed! :-)
As for my drug of choice... crafting :-) I've been very lucky in the last couple of weeks to have cards called out by the design teams on a couple of challenge sites. So, my thanks to the team at Dynamic Duos for choosing this card. To CasonSundays for choosing this card - and for the very fun prize I won and lastly to Simply Less is More for choosing this card. Recognition is such a wonderful thing and I am grateful to the teams for highlighting my cards. THANK YOU!
As always, thank YOU for visiting my little neck of the woods. Your visits are always much appreciated. Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
P.S. In case anyone is interested. It's snowing AGAIN! Come on, Jack Frost, let go of winter already :-)
