Sneak Peek: In Color Banner Greetings for Case this Sketch

Hi Everyone.   Happy Monday.

I have another sneak peek for you tonight.  It's a wonderful little set called Banner Greetings.  It's a hostess set from the new 2013-2014 catalog.   I am also showcasing some of the fabulous new In Colors for 2013-2015.  Now, I love the 2012-2014 In Colors.  Love them.  They are rich and regal.   The 2013-2015 In Colors are like a breath of fresh air.  They remind me of cotton candy/candy floss in all sorts of sherbety colors.

The sketch challenge across at Cas(e)thissketch gave me the ideal opportunity to open up my new Banner Greetings set.  Here's the sketch

I used Pistachio Pudding for the base of my card and paired it with Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.   For the vertical element, I pulled out my Chevron embossing folder!

Here's my card:

Banner Greetings

I stamped the birthday sentiment in Strawberry, Coastal and Cantaloupe and mounted them to the base of my card with dimensionals.    I like the fact that the arrow tips of the chevron are going left to right horizontally and that fits with the pennant tips of the banners.  I did condition my stamp, but looking at it, I think it might need a little more conditioning to get a smoother ink surface!  I must admit I love the font of the sentiment.

Don't forget to pop along to casethissketch and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards.  I think they'd like it if you played along, too!

On a personal note:

I got a little more time in my stamping space today!  Yay.  It's unusual for me during the week.  I wanted to play around with more of my new goodies.  Also, I am attending another one of the onlinecardclasses with Jennifer and Kristina.  This particular class is called "his and hers".  It's the idea of creating a masculine and a feminine version of a card using similar elements.  I did just that and will be sharing them with you later in the week.   It was fun trying to create both of them and I had to decide which element I was going to keep common between the two!  You should check the class out.  (BTW, I get no compensation for advertising these classes, I just find them fun!)

The weather was quite nice today, but not as good as yesterday.   It is going to get down into the 40s - with more snow, I might add!  However, there are little signs of spring everywhere.   We were sitting on the deck looking out at the wetland yesterday and I saw a swallow fly over my head!  When the swallows come, you know spring is very close.   We have also heard the sandhill cranes and have seen them coming into land a couple of times.  It's wonderful that they are back again this year.

I really do love this time of year.  It's a time of renewal and re-birth; of expectations of what the warmer weather and fresh air will bring;  of night's eating dinner on the deck watching the sun set; the warm sun on my face waking me from slumber; being seranaded to sleep by the frogs; knowing that the Farmer's Market will be open soon!  Ah... the joys of spring!

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
