French Foliage and Lovely as a Tree for Paper Players #161

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

Sandy is our fabulous hostess this week and she is standing in for me whilst I take a little break!   The theme should be appropriate for most of us this week! :-)

Now... all of my blog readers who have been around for a little while will know that French Foliage is my overall, number one, go to - Fall set :-)  I knew I wanted to use it as a background, but wasn't sure what I was going to add on the label with my sentiment.    Ah.  Ha!   I then remembered the perfect stamp in Lovely as a Tree.  I so rarely use this set, that I always forget about the oak leaf stamp!  Once I had that, I was all set to start my card :-)

I stamped the background with Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Early Espresso, but it was too bright.  So, I sponged some Crumb Cake ink all over it, but it still wasn't muted enough.   I decided that a vellum overlay was exactly what it needed.

Here's my finished card.

Pp161 (1 of 1)

I was tempted to do a Thanskgiving card, but remembered that I had an old PTI set that had a fall birthday stamp.   Perfect for a card for the OWH drive.  As the card is neither masculine nor feminine, I kept that theme by adding twine cut with frayed ends rather than a bow and I like the little bit of texture to the card.  In the end, I was really pleased with it.

Don't forget to join the Paper Players this week and check out the cards that the design team have created for your inspiration.  I know you will find some great ideas!

On a personal note:

So excited that there are still cards coming in for OWH.  This is going to be our most successful card drive to date, which is awesome!

As always thank you for visiting my blog.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee
