Rev Up the Fun for Paper Players #160

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

The fabulous Nance has a great sketch for the Paper Players this week.

I couldn't make my mind up on which way to go... snowflake and a Christmas card.... Flowers and a feminine card.   Frog on a lily pad for a child's birthday card..... mmmm.... then I remembered that I had received a new set from SU - Rev Up the Fun.   I'd bought this set specifically to make cards for OWH, so that's what I decided to go with.  I seem to be on a bit of a masculine card kick these days!

Here's my take on the challenge:

Rev Up the Fun

I really love this set... it's such fun and comes with a funky looking car as well as this bike!  I inked up my Wonderfully Worn background stamp for the Sahara Sand layer and my chevron embossing folder was run through the Big Shot for the mat layer behind the focal point.   It was also a great excuse to bring out my washi tape!

We hope that you play along with us this week.  The design team certainly have some great inspiration for you.  Pop along to their blogs and check out their great cards!

On a personal note:

Thought you might like to see what was visiting our woodland on Friday night....

Visitors (1 of 1)

The doe, the turkey hen and her poult and Niles and Daphne!   I managed to just get them into the same shot, although it's pretty tough to see the hen and poult in the top left hand corner, so here's a closer look at them

Henandpoult (1 of 1)

A little earlier I had popped out on to the deck between conference calls to commune with nature for a few minutes.   I was looking over the wetland and saw two vultures circling just above the trees.  I rushed in to get my camera, but in the minute or so it took me to do that, they had caught a thermal and gone off into the sky.

Vultures (1 of 1)

There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the color was the most amazing blue!  They only circled a couple of times and were off!

Well, a week or so I was saying that it felt decidedly like fall and that I wasn't quite ready for it.... Mmmmm... Summer obviously heard me.   As I write this post it is just after 4pm and it is 90 degrees outside with a heat indices of 96.   From tomorrow through Wednesday we are under an extreme heat advisory where the temps are going to be in the high 90s and the heat indices up to 105.  The weather is going to be hot, humid with no rain for the next 10 days.   We really desperately need the rain and the heat is a little too much for me!  There will be no relief at night either, as the temps will drop only about 10-15 degrees.  It's days like that when I am so glad that we have air conditioning!

Whilst sitting in the garden last night, I realized that many of our birds have flown the coup.  It is much quieter than normal.   The Orioles, wren, red-winged blackbirds, catbird, grossbeak and phoebe have all gone.  A sure sign that summer is coming to an end.  The hummers are hanging in, but I think they will be leaving in the next day or so.   We noticed birds collecting on the wire today and there is a North-east wind, perfect for helping the birds on their south-bound journey.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little neck of the stamping blogosphere.   Your visits and your comments are always much appreciated.  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Fun creation, Jaydee...I had lots of thoughts of what to do with this sketch too!

perfect card to go with sketch.
Now Jaydee; there are some females that also ride motorcycles :}
Once again, thanks for sharing your lovely nature photos.
Welcome to our Textures. So dry here that we are under a No Burn Ban. Had threat of showers but passed right on by. :{
Have a great evening.
You should expect my OWH box tomorrow.

You nailed the sketch with this card, Jaydee--it's just PERFECT!

I was looking at it, stumped. While I love to arrange furniture on a diagonal, I have a very hard time with it on cards. I wonder what in the world I'll do with it...

There's something wonderful about watching wildlife from your back deck, isn't there? Your shots are delightful!

So sorry summer returned with a vengeance. :oS

P.S. Howdy Lou! :o)

Wow Jaydee that Washi Tape really looks like it was meant to be tire tracks! What a great revelation. This is going to be a perfect guy card for someone to send back home.

Such a fun card, Jaydee! I love the addition of the Washi Tape, too. It is always nice to see the visitions you have in your yard. I wonder what those vultures were scoping out. Must not have been too terribly interesting for them if they didn't hang around. Have a great day! :)
