Gorgeous Grunge for Just Add Ink

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday night.

I have a card for you tonight that I made for the Just Add Ink challenge.  In fact, I loved this challenge so much that I made a couple of different cards, but will share them on separate nights for you.

I also have a couple more showcase teaser cards from the Operation Write Home card drive.  So lots for you to look at tonight!

Let's start with the Just Add Ink card.  The challenge was to make a card with FRAMES.  Now, the direction was anything that has a frame or uses a frame.  Ah. Ha!   I knew that I had this fabulous frame hanging around from a card kit that I had bought especially to make cards for the OWH drive.  I hadn't known what to do with this particular embellishment, but this challenge had me thinking right away!

The embellishment was a bicycle and they have frames, right!   Lou, of course, totally appreciated this card, especially as I tried to get as close to celeste green as I could.  (Celeste green is the color of his favorite bike - Bianchi!)

Gorgeous Grunge

I used two different stamps from Gorgeous Grunge as the background to the bicycle.  To adhere the bicycle, I made a small slit into the top layer and slipped the "paper clip" piece of the bike into that slit.  I adhered it behind to make sure that it stayed!  I had a perfect sentiment from the PTI Pedal Pusher stamp set!  Gorgeous Grunge was stamped with Smoky Slate ink to echo the color of the bicycle. The outside sentiment of "Life is a beautiful ride." has an inside sentiment of "especially with you by my side."  I thought it was perfect for this embellishment!

Now.... on to something completely different.  Here are a couple of cards that I selected to feature as teasers from Kelly and Beth...... err..... CAROL!

Let's start with Carol who created a fabulous monochromatic butterfly card.

Beth (1 of 1)-2

I absolutely loved the gradiation of colors from darkest to lightest, offset with the opposite in the butterflies.  The horizontal stripes are the perfect width to highlight the popped up butterflies and the large pearls add a touch of luxury to the card.  The fact that this whole montage is set on white card stock base helps to frame the elements to perfection.   Gorgeous card!

Keeping with the blue theme of the night, here's Kelly's fabulous fall themed card.

Kelly (1 of 1)

I immediately fell in love with the rich, regal colors that Kelly chose for her card.  The embossed background is the perfect way to anchor the leaves.  To keep things interesting, Kelly changed up the sentiment from the expected fall sentiment to a sending love one.  Perfect for this time of year.   The tri colored leaf at the top of the tag is unexpected and a great way to tie all the colors together.  Gorgeous!

So, lots of great inspiration for you tonight!  I promise you that these teasers are just a preview of the fabulous work these ladies did for our troops.

As always, thank you for visiting my blog!  Your visits and your comments are always much appreciated!  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
