Sneak Peek: Riveting Foil Word Bubbles
11 December 2013
Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday. I can't believe it is Wednesday already - where on earth is the time going these days! I know for sure that it's not because I'm spending time in my bikini soaking up the sun! We have been down in the -20+ region for days now. It looks pretty out with bright sunshine, but it's freezing!
Many of my regular blog readers will know that my ever-patient hubby has been amazing how repainting every room in the house, putting up shelving for organization, paintings, organizing the garage, putting up feeders and houses for the birds... well, I decided it was time to give him a little thank you card.
Lou is always fussy about what he considers to be a masculine card. I saw a Tim Holtz embossing folder a little while ago and got it just for cards for Lou! When I saw the new Word Bubbles stamp set from SU, I knew that I could use that with the new embossing folder. However, SU made it even easier for me when the put some silver foil sheets in the new catalog! I was really happy and decided that I had the exact card in mind for Lou.
Here it is... check out the fabulous foil card stock. It's much heavier than trying to use aluminium foil, is about the same weight as our card stock, and embossese beautifully.
I stamped the sentiment inside the frame cut bubble using Versamark and then heat embossed it with Silver embossing powder. Works beautifully with the foil paper. Isn't that cool? It met Lou's approval for "masculine", which, of course, made me happy!
I couldn't stop there, though, 'cos I decided that the Word Bubbles would work well for an envelope, too. I am loving the new envelope punch board
It's so easy to use and really helps me to create that customized look and feel for cards. I used up some retired Designer Patterns Basic Black DSP and created the envelope. I cut out the Word Bubble using the framelit and added Lou's name with the Chalk Marker.
Look at that envelope. All decked out and as masculine as a wall street trader's pin-striped suit! Lou has been really impressed with the envelopes. he's amazed that I can make my own. I decided not to tell him that I was using a tool... mind you, I guess he's going to find out when he reads this post! :-)
As always, thank you for your visit and your comments. They are always much appreciated. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
