Fine Feathers meets Feathered Woodcuts for Casethissketch

Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday.

I have a very quick post for you tonight.  It's 10.14 and I have to be up to start work again at 5.30!  I did, however, want to post a card I made for casethissketch this week.  ETA:  Thanks to Kylie for reminding me to submit this to the STAMPLORATIONS challenge, too!

I decided that I would use feathers for the card.  It was a great excuse to get out my new e-cutter and the MDS Feathered Woodcuts MDS download.   I'm really fond of fussy-cutting, but sometimes you just have to let the tool do it for you.  Downloading the MDS jpg into the Silhouette Cutter software was a breeze and I think it does a great job of cutting out the printed image.  One of the feathers was printed and then cut.  The other just cut out of Basic Grey card stock.

Here's the outside of the card:

Feathersoutside

Now, at first glance, you might not see that the feather in the background was cut from Basic Grey card stock... but I promise it was!  Once it was cut, I "thumped" some metallic silver ink over it to give it a little shimmer and shine.  I really like the effect against the printed and cut feather in the foreground.

Of course, I felt I had to do a little something with the inside.  Now, the sentiment on the inside might not be predictable.... but, it was intentional.   I'm at the age where I feel that I forget to dream.  Birthday's used to be about dreaming what I would do "in the future".  Now that my future is here, I find myself thinking less and less like that.  But... you are never too old to dream!

Caseinside

I stamped the inside with a stamp from Fine Feathers.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set.  The whole inside is stamped onto Naturals White card stock spritzed with Marina Mist ink in an alcohol spritz.

I hope it encourages you to let YOUR dreams take flight!

Don't forget blog candy is on offer from this post

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  I'll be back on Friday with another card.

hugs

Jaydee

Hi Jaydee:

It is the second time I write this comment . . . do not why the captcha does not appear . . . anyway . . . thanks so much for devoting so much of your time to us. Your card gave me a nice idea . . . Guerlain instead of giving to the public the usual piece of cardboard to test the parfums, it gave beautiful white feathers to test "La petite robe noire" . . . I kept it and I will use it now to put in practice your idea.

Thanks!

Marina . . . from far Africa.
