Hi everyone. Happy Monday. I managed to combine two challenges togeether this weekend. Retrosketches - who have a wonderful tag as our sketch and simply less is more who want us to use metal on our creation. Here's the sketch: I decided to make a tag using metal leaf. I really do love metal leaf, and I was thirlled that Jen McGuire has a video on her blog showing how to use it on a card. You can check out Jen's video here. To make my tag, I used the SSS leaf stencil and dabbed Versamark over the masked off... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's my pleasure to host the Paper Players challenge this week, and it's a sketch challenge for you: I thought about what I was going to do and decided that I wanted to use a monochromatic color scheme and finally settled on yellows. I then cut the three colors into 3/4 strips and adhered them to a white base. I then ran this through my Big Shot with the "hello" die from PTI. I found a challenge across at cas-ualfridays which fit the idea I had going around in my head. Here's the challenge: The challenge is to make a card that is long - and also celebrates the great job the current design... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. Tonight's card is the second card I made for the casethissketch challenge this week - and it is very different to last night's card! This one screams spring. Very appropriate considering it got to 40 degrees today! yep. 40 degrees. In fact, I heard something I hadn't heard in month's today... the sound of melting snow! It's short-lived, however, as we are expecting another 4-7 inches of snow on Thursday! As a reminder, here's the sketch from casethissketch I pulled out a new SSS leaves stencil and masked off an area, as I wanted the leaves... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I had fun creating a card for casethissketch this week. It's such a versatile sketch, that I actually made two cards for it. Here's the sketch Well, I must admit, I was totally ready to make a Christmas card considering the inspiration - and the weather outside! But, I resisted the temptation and played around with some gold spritz and tried to replicate the marbling technique that the Venetians are so famous for. Everytime I've been to Venice, I've gone into the paper shops there and been amazed by how beautiful the marbled papers are. They... Read more →
