Ow-ways for Addicted to CAS
10 May 2014
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Marie's turn to host our challenge at Addicted to CAS this week and she has a great code word for us.
Now, this code word can take you in so many different directions and I had fun planning what I was going to do. In the end I decided to go with a Hero Arts set designed for Operation Write Home called Lil Hoot! It's such a cute set. I decided to combine it with the SU woodgrain background stamp.
Here's my take on the sketch:
Seriously! Aren't those two just the cutest I had such fun coloring the two of them. I used Enamel Accents for their eyes and made sure to make :- I decided to make the baby owl's eyes much bigger than Mom's. to give him that look of vulnerability and to emphasize his cuteness. :-) I really had a lot of fun coloring them.
For the background I inked up my woodgrain stamp and then cut it into 9 pieces and adhered them to my kraft card base using double sided tape. I fussy cut both of the owls and used more double sided tape to adhere them to the woodgrain. I made sure that both the branch, and the owls, were off the edge of the woodgrain base in order to meet the requirements of the challenge.
Don't forget to check out the amazing inspiration cards from the talented design team. :-) Also, the winner of the challenge this week will receive 5 free digital images from our fabulous sponsor Whimsy Stamps
On a personal note:
Lou has just returned from a trip to Asia, so this will be a very quick post as we go off to have dinner at our favorite restaurant. I will be back with another card tomorrow - and will feature that nature video I promised!
As always, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee

Oooooooh - I adore Owls Jaydee, so this is right up my street! Love the woodgrain panel, and you are so right about the size of the baby owl's eyes - he does look a little vulnerable (you clever girl)!!!
