Sneak Peek: Sea Street for Try Stamping on Tuesday

Sneak Peek: Traveler

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday.

This is going to be a quick post tonight!  I saw a great sketch across at annabelle stamps and decided that it would be ideal to use with the elements from the Traveler stamp sets.   This is one of the first stamp sets in the new SU catalog that I decided I wanted.  I love the vintage look of the camera, steamship, suitcase, etc.

I needed a Bon Voyage card and, of course, didn't have a stamp that said that... so opened up my word processing software and used a font that had a vintage feel.

Here's my card.

Sketchit-2

I love the grey on grey monochromatic color scheme and the stamped images.  They seem to work really well with the offset angle from the sketch.

Before I adhered the sentiment, I took an SU Essentials Hardware paper clip and colored it with my sharpie.  It's a nice bright, shiny, silver and that didn't really work with my color scheme or vintage feel.  So coloring it with the sharpie seemed to make it feel as though it fit better with the overall scheme.

I also didn't want to use Whisper White for the sentiment layer as it was too bright, so used the SU Naturals White, which has a more grey tone.  That worked perfectly with the overall color scheme.

As promised, I have a couple of nature photographs for you.

I've shown you a photograph of the Blue Winged Teals before, but this shot captured with a Mallard, really shows you what little things they are!

Tealmallard

You can see the Mallard hiding on the patch of grass above the wetland buffer zone sign and the Blue Winged Teals to the right.  They really are much smaller than the Mallard.

This little guy made his nest underneath our bottom step and seems to have survived the winter very well.  He sits on the coffee table outside my craft room and drives the cats nuts!

Chipmunk-2
I'll be back on Saturday with my Paper Players card.  Unfortunately, I won't get into my craft room until Saturday, so don't have another card to share with you!   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

I don't know how the chippie sat still long enough for you to get the picture. The ones around are so fast it looks like a blur going by. I really enjoy seeing your wildlife. Of course, I love the cards also! Have a great weekend.

Great looking card for that someone who is going on a trip.
I must say: I wouldn't get any work done if I had that wonderful view out my window the way you have. I would be 2 busy watching all the wildlife so I Thank You for sharing your wonderful photos with us.

Cute little chipmunk. Is that alvin, simon, or theadore :}

Oo! I LIKE that monochromatic card you have going there, Jaydee! Those greys are so beautiful together!

I had no idea the teals were so teeny! Thanks for capturing the mallard with it to give us a sense of size. :o)

I have no chipmunks, alas, as I find them utterly enchanting. The ones we encounter in the woods dash away faster than you can say "scurry"!

I've been enjoying the bluebirds, hummers and cardinals around here of late. I've only seen my one little male hummer, but I'm sure the females will be following on his heels. :o)

Hugs!

P.S. Hiya Lou! :o)
