A bright sunshine day for Addicted to CAS

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulously talented Loll's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge and she has a great code word for us

Well, isn't that a perfect code word for us?  It's been so wet and rainy here in Minnesota, that it was wonderful to be able to sit and make a card that was bright and cheerful and featured something that we don't seem to see as much of these days :-)

I have the perfect sentiment for a card like this and it's a sentiment that I have used often over the years.  I can't even remember when I bought it, but think it's perfect for a card.    Of course, I had to bring out my Ranger sun stencil and some Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks.

Here's my card:

Bright Sunshine Day

In order to draw even more attention to the sentiment, I added a couple of the new SU sequins, one a heart and the other a star.  (on a side note... I love these new sequins!)

You can see that I concentrated color on what would be the center of the sun and then shaded the rays in both Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry to give some variety.  I've been obsessed with making cards that fit easily into an envelope and can be sent without extra postage, so I adhered the focal layer directly to a Crushed Curry base.

The design team have created some gorgeous cards.  You really should pop along to the challenge site and check them out.  Oh, and, of course, we'd love you to play along, too!  If you do, and you are chosen as the winner, there is a great prize for you.  Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo designs and the winner will get 7 free digis!

It's also the last week of our latest guest designer, Karen and her card is gorgeous!  It's been wonderful having you as part of our team, Karen.

On a personal note:

Another chaotic week this week..... so much going on and so many things to do.  As I'm going on vacation at the end of next week, it's been really busy at work, too.  Consequently, I didn't get anywhere near my craft room this week.  I also haven't had the chance to take any wildlife or garden photographs as it has been too wet.  We've had so much rain that we have had our entire year rainfall in the couple of months of Spring.  The flooding around the cities has been dreadful the last couple of days.  Several basements in our street have been flooded.  We are lucky that our sump pump is JUST keeping up.  Looks like we are free from rain until Sunday, but we are forecast for rain multiple days over the next 10.

The rain has also delayed our underdeck screen in.  They FINALLY finished the screening late this evening, but the guys doing the ceiling cannot work when it is wet.  So, we are now dependent on the wood of the deck being totally dry before we can get the ceiling in!   On a bright note, the screening is wonderful and is going to make a huge difference to us enjoying our garden this year.  Lou is finishing painting the railing on the deck and then will be painting the floor of the screened in area tomorrow.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card and some photos of our new trees and who has been visiting our garden.

In the meantime, thank you for your patience with my absences over this very busy couple of weeks.  I really do appreciate all of you for hanging in there with me.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
