Work of Art for Case this Sketch #79
05 June 2014
Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday.
I'm thrilled to be the guest designer across at Casethissketch this week. (insert happy dance here!)
This card won this challenge and, because of that win, I was invited to play along this week as the guest designer. Now, that wasn't really an invitation I could turn down! I was delighted when Chrissy reached out to me and asked me. The design team has some fabulous sketches and the one this week is no exception! Here's the sketch:
I had so many different ideas swirling around in my head, but in the end decided Work of Art would be ideal. I loved that the horizontal elements started right at the bottom of the page, but stopped before the top and I love that they were off-set. I took those as my cues for my card.
Here's my take on the sketch:
Because of the movement the stamped images created, I decided the sentiment needed some movement, too. I reached for an old Simon Says Stamp set called Tilted Banner Sayings. As this set comes with a matching die, creating the banner was a breeze. I folded over the ends and adhered them directly to my card. I then used two enamel elements - one a heart and the other a circle - just to help draw a little more attention to my sentiment.
I used a photo inspiration I had seen for the colors - thanks to Colleen for that suggestion! I actually love the colors together and am really loving the new Work of Art stamp set.
I do hope that you will join us at Casethissketch this week and we can't wait to see what you create using this great sketch. The design team have created some amazing cards, so don't forget to pop along and check them out.
Many thanks to Chrissy and the team for choosing my card as the winner of sketch #74 - and for the chance to play along as the guest designer this week!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card and some wildlife shots for you! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
