Addicted to CAS - Gold
02 August 2014
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Deepti's turn to host the Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a great word for us:
Well, there are all sorts of places to go with this word, but I took it literally in terms of color. We needed a wedding card and I thought that Gold and Black would be a great way to go.
I decided to create three presents with a classic black, gold and white color theme.
Here's my card:
This was a great excuse to pull out my SU gold card stock and I used it as a mat as well as for the parcels. This card will be going to a wonderful young couple who are getting married later today!
The bright sunlight on the gold was making it really hard to photograph. It's actually a more matte look in real life, but still has enough shine to make it pop against the black!
We hope that you will join us and play along. Once again our fabulous sponsor Whimsy stamps will be offering 5 free digis to the winner of our challenge.
As it's also the start of a new month, we introduce a new guest designer and this month it's the turn of the very talented Lyndal.
On a personal note:
My thanks to Amy across at Freshly Made Sketches for choosing my ice cream card as the Queen of Clean this week. I was THRILLED and very surprised. Thanks to all of you who left me messages or sent me emails letting me know. I would have missed it and it was fabulous to hear it from my wonderful blog readers.
It's been a very busy week at work and, because Lou has been gone for 2 weeks, it has made it even more difficult for me to get to my blog!
I must admit, having had a houseful of wonderful and much loved friends, it was very difficult making the transition to being on my own with just the cats! I spent the first couple of days wandering around not quite sure what to do with myself! I really missed Lou - and missed our friends! Lou is now home, so it's feeling a little more normal. :-)
On Tuesday the temps dropped and so did the humidity. That meant that it was the perfect weather for sitting on the deck and - even more fun - underneath the deck! In fact, we spent a couple of hours out there this evening watching the sun set and listening to the birds. It was absolutely gorgeous. We knew then, that we had absolutely made the right decision to screen in the underdeck!
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card and will have some shots of the garden for you, too!
As always, I really do appreciate your visit - and your comments! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Gold, Basic Black, Whisper White - SU
- Inks: Memento Black
- Die: Papertrey Ink (presents). Lil Inker - stitched rectangle
Beautiful! Simple, yet elegant. The color is so rich looking.
We also have had cooler temperatures with light misty of rain but our temp. will be going back up this weekend and into the week:{ I so was enjoying them 70 deg. temperatures.
Enjoy your day, have a wonderful evening and Super, Fun weekend.

Black and gold - So perfect for each other. I love your little pressies in a row and that little sentiment is perfect. Glad to hear Lou is home and what a wonderful scene you have set sitting on your screened deck. Sounds like paradise xx

What beautiful gold parcels! I'd love to unwrap such a gift. ;o)
We have had the lower temps and humidity and it has been lovely. I fear today we are back to "normal"...:sigh:
I hope you and the kitties have been able to settle in to being alone. It's tough.
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou! Wishing you safe and trouble-free travels!
