Birthday Wishes for Paper Players #211
31 August 2014
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the very talented Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a Tic-Tac-Toe for us.
I decied to go vertically in the first column: yellow, birthday, patterned paper.
I decided to go for a clean and simple approach and incorporated the patterned paper in the die ct "birthday". As the DSP is not as strong as card stock, I die cut a couple of pieces of white card stock and layered them underneath the die-cut "birthday".
I then die-cut a layer using my Lil Inker stitched rectangle die and stamped the first part of the sentiment in StazOn black ink. I then secured the "birthday" to the card base using Tombow clear glue. All that was left to do was to mount this layer - using dimensionals - to the card base and add a few sequins. Then my card was all ready to photograph. Sadly, there was no sun and it made it very difficult to get a decent shot :-)
Here's my card:
I hope you will join us this week! As always, the design team have outdone themselves! Check out their blogs for some fabulous inspiration.
On a personal note:
As I write this blog post, I am in your screened in porch trying desperately hard not to be distracted by the birds singing and flying past. The cats are being teased by the chipmunk who has parked himself on the other side of the screen and is "pipping" at them - very loudly! He is not a happy little chipmunk, but he isn't backing down one bit!
It's a beautiful evening with a slightly cool northern breeze rustling the leaves on the trees. If I look closely I can see that the leaves are beginning to turn - just a little. The best thing about all of this - we are mosquito free :-)
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today! I'll be back on Monday with another card.
Hugs
Jaydee
