Fine Feathers for Paper Players #207

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night.

It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great challenge for us.

I was excited to be able to go digging around in my button collection, which really doesn't get as much love as it should :-)  However, I decided cute wasn't the direction I wanted to go.   Now, my Mother would have told you that she was not surprised by that decision :-)  She always said that her name might have been Mary, but I was the one who was contrary :-)

I decided I needed a masculine card 'cos my honey has been away for a couple of weeks, so I needed a card to show him that I had missed him :-)

I began with some Confetti Celebration DSP and stamped some feathers in various shades of grey and silver.  I also added a couple of die cut and stamped feathers on vellum to add a little lightness to it.  The sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White card stock and adhered only on the ends, leaving the middle to pop a little from the base.  I then chose a Tempting Turquoise botton to anchor the feathers and added a little silver elastic cord.

Here's my card:

The design team have created some fabulous cards for your inspiration, so pop along to their blogs to check those cards out and then pop back to the Paper Players and play along with us:-)

 On a personal note:

Lou and I left the house at 7.30am this morning and have only just returned at 10.30.  We managed to run home mid afternoon to quickly change and get ready for the wedding, but otherwise we have been constantly on the go.  So, no crafting completed today :-)

However, it was wonderful to be able to celebrate the union of two beautiful young people.  It was a beautiful wedding and a fabulous service.  It was also great weather and the rain held off until they had left the church and were on their way into the city :-)

I'm hoping to get into my craft room tomorrow to play along with a few challenges.  So, I should be back with another card tomorrow :-)   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

What a great card. Did you use the new SU dies, or did you cut them on your own?

How do you manage your time so well? After work I am always so far behind on my housework, crafting falls by the wayside. Would love to hear any practical advice you have.

I love weddings - nothing quite so wonderful as starting out full of hope and promise!

Gem

Love the silver/gray/white combination with the pop of turquoise! What a sweet card for your hubby!

The vellum and silver feathers create a wonderful focal spot anchored with your turquoise button. I love the casual layout and sentiment. Fun card Jaydee!

LeAnne

Lovely, Jaydee! Soft & serene....those feathers are just delightful! It doesn't surprise me that you would be fond of them!

Yapha

Such a stunning card! I love the silver feathers and the bright pop of blue button.

Joanne James

I love those feathers Jaydee - the vellum ones look almost real at first glance. I love the pop of colour from the turquoise button too and the sentiment is so fitting -a gorgeous card.

laurie

Those vellum feathers add such a soft touch to the card, just right for a guy card..bet he loved it!

Rach

Simply beautiful and elegant, but definitely masculine. :o) The button is lovely and works beautifully with your assortment of feathers.

Oh good! Lou's home! :o) I love weddings--they always make me happy-weepy. :o)

Hugs!

P.S. Hi Lou!

Sandy M

This is gorgeous, Jaydee! I love the contrast of the shine against the vellum, and the chevron background is also great contrast to the organic feel of the feathers. I'm sure hubby loved it!

Mike

I'm always at a loss for what to do with a button, and then I look at the projects and all I keep saying is “Why didn't I think of that!?” I love the feathers.

Claire Broadwater

OOOOOOH---Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love the smokey slate with the vellum embossed feathers! The pop of turquoise is fabulous, too! This card is stunning! XX
